"No! Theo!"
"Amelia! Amelia! Wake-up!"
Rosie slowly opened her eyes, and then she saw Jack looking at her intently.
"Theo? You're alive! What happened? You-you—" she confusedly said and roamed her eyes around.
She's inside a hospital suite.
"You passed out when you saw Z, kanina. And of course I'm alive!" Jack told her calmly.
Rosie breathe a sigh of relief.
It was just a dream, then she remembered her daughter.
"Lily? Where's Lily?" She asked Jack who sat back on the chair beside her bed.
She got nervous, Jack looks like he was about to tell her a bad news.
"Is something bad happened to my daughter Theodore?" She asked, her hands are visibly shaking. Jack immediately caught her hand on his.
"Sshh.. calm down. Z is alright. Binabantayan siya ni Archie at ni Roxy. Iris is with Lizzie." He told her and that's the only time she had a good look at his face.
He looks tired at maputla din ito.
She caressed his cheeks.
"You look like shit Theo." She commented and he chuckled.
"I was worried for Z and then you passed out. It literally scared the shit out of me." He jokingly said and then his face went serious again.
"What's wrong?" She asked again.
"Z is okay and so is Roxy but Anabelle is not Amelia. Napalakas ang tulak ni Z sa kanya and she hit her head real hard." Paliwanag nito and for some reasons ay bumalot ang kaba sa dibdib niya.
"How is she? Is she alright?" Nag a-alalang tanong niya.
"She still hasn't woken up. She have no family and Mark and his wife volunteered na bantayan siya."
From the little time that she knows the teen, she's actually sweet and kind. She knows the teen is an orphan and knowing that her daughter is the one who caused her in that state, Rosie felt guilty.
"She's my responsibility now Theo." She told him and she can see the curious look on his face. "I'll take her in pag labas niya ng hospital. She needs someone to look after her, walang mag-a-alaga sa kanya sa dorm."
She saw how Jack takes a deep breath. She can tell that he was against the idea so before he can rebutt she continued.
"Theo, it was our daughter that caused her to be in that state. May pananagutan tayo sa batang yun'."
"Amelia! Can you hear yourself? Ikaw na din ang may sabi. It was Z's fault! Sa palagay mo ba magkakatulong na nasa iisang bahay sila?" Theo explained. "Your daughter was so scared because of what she did, and having them together under one roof will guilt her more."
"And what should we do Theo? Na gui-guilty din ako. The least I can do is to take care of her."
"Z is jealous enough. She saw you on her first day back hugging Annabelle, that's her first impression when she saw the young girl Amelia, and you taking care of Annabelle will fuel her jealousy more." Natigilan naman si Rosie sa sinabi ni Theo. She didn't realize that. Her Lily is craving for her attention and if she saw her taking care of another person will surely hurt her and of course she doesn't want that to happen.
It's just that her heart is telling her to take care of Annabelle as well. Her eyes watered, naiyak na siya sa confusion.
Why can't things be easier for her?
