I stared up at the ceiling, my body numb from everything that's been going on.
The sound of footsteps makes me close my eyes. A few tears fall down my cheeks and I pray they're not coming to my room.
Instead, Niko and Dad's voices can heard and I know they're arguing again.
Our parents have been trying to fix what happened between me and Niko for almost a week now.
"She dated my best friend, Dad! They both went behind my back and you expect me to forgive them so easily?"
Not this again.
"All I am saying is you need to both talk about it. Your sister hasn't left her room in days and you're always going out. This can't keep going on."
I wish my parents would just leave it alone.
Niko shouldn't even be upset anymore anyway. Arius and I haven't spoken in a week and he dumped me.
The memory of the breakup comes to mind and I try not to sob again.
Flashback—Five Days Ago—The day after Niko found out—
I stood outside his house, staring at the door as my heart pounded against my chest.
Arius hasn't texted or called me all day. I couldn't just let him end it like this.
If he was going to dump me then I wanted it face to face.
I need to hear him say he wasn't going to fight for me...he didn't want me.
