Home games are always the best for us. It's when we play our best.
But not today.
Especially when half of the team is suddenly forgetting all our practice and Niko won't play fair with Darien.
Coach Carter keeps yelling at us to get it together but I doubt we will. Not with everything that's happened.
Niko is still pissed Darien slashed his tired and Darien is still pissed he had to sit out on practice after getting his ass beat on the ice.
Needless to say, we're going to lose this game.
I glance over the crowd and see their disappointment. They were probably hoping we'd win this year's championship game again.
Fuck man, we will. I know we will.
Coach Carter calls a timeout and I take the opportunity to pull Niko to the side.
"The fuck are you doing?" I spit at him and he gapes at me, "What the fuck do you mean?"
He's not stupid, he knows exactly what I mean.
"I understand the asshole slashed your tires and fucked over Aylee but we can't let that get in the way of our games, Niko. You can play with each other's dicks after the game, not during. Get it fucking together, captain. We need to win this."
I skate over to the rest of my teammates where Coach Carter is scolding them.
"Get your heads out of those fucking asses. You guys better get your shit together or we're done for. Done. Do you guys want to lose after a three-year mark streak? Do you know how fucking embarrassing it is right now to be your coach? GET IT TOGETHER!"
