Song: Let The World Burn
By: Chris Grey
Dedicated to: Kailey, Yesenia, and Maria
I'm in bed scrolling through my phone when the door opens.
"You're late." I don't bother looking up to see who it is.
Everett said he'd be here ten minutes ago and I almost started Mulan without him.
My heart drops at the sight of brown hair and not Everett's blonde hair.
Niko flops down onto the bed next to me and I stay frozen, unsure of what is to come.
God, is my mind playing tricks on me?
"You're not going to the party?" He asks and my heart beats rapidly against my chest.
That's the most he's said to me in weeks.
I clear my throat and put my phone down.
"No, Everett and I have plans."
He nods his head before silence follows right after.
Is this a joke?
"Aylee," He sighs, sitting up and I look at him to see him looking right back at me.
"I'm sorry."
His words make my eyes water instantly and I try to hold them back.
"I'm a fucking asshole for giving you the silent treatment...and I was wrong to try and keep Arius and you apart. I was just scared of losing my two most important people. I didn't want to feel left out and I–I made a sacrifice a while ago—you two don't owe me anything. So, I'm sorry and I hope you can forgive me."
