Feels like just two days ago Eda saw Tracy, and now she was at her house with everyone else she was close to. Admittedly... It was indeed two days ago, but that doesn't matter. This was all for Raine.
They had been having a hard time recently and like the amazing mother Tracy was, wanted Raine to be around friends to get their mind off it for even just a few hours. One thing is for sure, Tracy treated Eda like her own daughter which was a relief, because at first Eda thought Tracy hated her. "Eda darling, come here for a second please," she asked from the kitchen. Eda heard it and left the spot she was sitting in, beside her sister and Raine.
"Hey ms Tracy, what's up?" Eda asked. "Your tall sweetheart, get that bowl for me would ya?" Tracy asked. She could get it herself. She just didn't feel like it. "Oh! Of course" Eda replied without a second thought and grabbed it, handing it to the older woman. "Thank you dear, now tell me something, have you ever thought about leaving your hair down?" Tracy asked. "Oh... Uh... I used to" Eda replied with a nervous smile. "Why'd you stop?" Tracy asked. "Uhm.. R-raine.." Eda muttered. "Yeah? Need something calamity?" They replied.
Eda jumped and looked back to see Raine standing behind her, smiling. "No!! I don't!" Eda yelled, trying to hide her red face. Raine chuckled at their silly friend and then said. "You're always so random, I love that" they gushed with a smile. "Well isn't that sweet, maybe there is a woman in this room right now who'd love to spend private time with you" Tracy suggested. Eda's cheeks went fully red, as her gaze glued to the ground.
Raine started to process exactly what their mom just said, then looked at her, then eda. "Oh? It's okay Mom, il hang out with you" then beamed.
At that very moment, everyone looked at Raine. Even Lilith, Darius, and Noa heard them. A fucking mouse who was in the wall and got damn particles of oxygen. However, that's when it all crashed down for Eda.
All the painful years of blatant flirting, all the trying, waiting, and wishing. She realized. Raine would never love her the way she wanted them to.
The realization hit Eda like a ton of bricks. She felt a mix of disappointment, heartache, and embarrassment. However, within seconds Eda came to accept the truth and understand that sometimes relationships are meant to stay platonic. She nearly cried, as everything in her heart seemed to just decay, and then blow away like dust.
However, she bit her lip and walked past Raine without even so much as a glance. "Eda?.. Hey, where are you going?" They asked, slightly confused as to what could have upset her so quickly. "Don't worry about it" she muttered, not even looking back to reassure them as she usually would. Raine was about to follow her until Tracy held your shoulder. "Let her cool off for a bit.. " she sighed, seeing how hurt Eda was in this moment. "W-was it something I said?.." Raine asked, looking back at Tracy.
Eda went outside to the backyard, where she used to spend countless hours with Raine. Now she was out there, trying to keep her composed and not cry. All she could think about was the constant memories of times Raine had been so oblivious to her feelings. Now everything feels like such a waste, all that time she could have used to move on she spent gawking over them. She could never hate them, or even stay mad at them. "Hey girlie, you okay?" She heard from behind her. She looked back to see Noa, standing over her. "Y-yeah.. I'm fine" Eda said, with a tired smile. "Well that's a horrendous lie, but il let it slide" Noa teased, nudging her playfully. "Sorry... I-I don't know why I do that" Eda admitted.
"Maybe... It's because you've been doing it your whole life.." Noa said. Eda looked at them surprised because he was right... And she didn't even notice until now. "You've been asking yourself for so long... It's like you forgot who you used to be... Right?" He asked, with a knowing smile. "I-I guess you're right... I just... I wanted Raine to like... " Eda stopped, realizing why she's been fighting her inner self for so long. "Me.. " she whispered. "You should never change yourself for anyone, owl lady," he said, then pulled the hair tie out of her hair. Then combed his hand through it.
And like he expected, it then fit perfectly into place. "You're so smart. How do you always know what to say and do for me?" Eda asked, her smile growing. "You aren't as mysterious as people think you are" Noa teased, brushing her hair behind her ear. She scoffed in return. "Oh yeah? Then what am I. If you so wise?" Eda asked in a playful tone. Slowly, laying her head on his shoulder. "Slightly damaged.. " he replied in a whisper. Eda looked up at Noa surprised. "Yeah.. I know, don't even worry about it.. You are a lot better than I used to be" he chuckled. "Tell you what.. Take a week, and think everything you're feeling over. Take care of yourself " he said, while looking up. She nodded. The slightest pink hue covered her cheeks. "Noa.. " eda muttered. "You'll be okay, I know you will," he said and got up and left.
Eda sighed and prepared to face everyone again. When suddenly Raine came out and bumped into her. "Oh shit!.. Sorry, calamity" they said quickly. "It's fine..! Just.. Fine" Eda muttered, taking a step back. "Are you okay? Did I say something to upset you earlier?" They asked, desperately trying to make it up to her. "It's fine.. I don't want to talk about it.. " Eda sighed
"Eda, please..I just want to talk to you, I don't understand why you won't tell me what's wrong.." They pleaded, and finally. She finally hit her breaking point. " of course you don't understand. You somehow, NEVER understand!" She yelled and turned away from them. "Eda I don't understand! Why are you so mad at me?!" Raine asked. it wasn't supposed to get this heated.. it wasn't supposed to get this aggressive. "how can you STILL not understand?! it's been damn near 20 years!! What's wrong with you?!" she yelled, tears starting to flood her eyes. "then just tell me! why can't you just communicate?" they asked, desperately trying to understand. That's when she finally yelled, "I love you, god damnit!!"
They stood there still. Processing what their best friend had just said.. "But.. Now.. I'm not even sure" she muttered. She then walked past Raine, went through the house, out the front door, and left as quickly as possible. Nobody tried to stop her, because they had heard everything. And were actually eavesdropping, because the moment Raine went to see her it was pen-drop silent in the house.
She got home, desperately trying to clear her eyes of the dreaded tears she hated. Nearly dropping to her knees in the privacy of her own home. That's when she saw them. A pair of blue scissors.
She picked them up and went into her bathroom.
Oooooo wonder what she's doing 😏😏😏😏😏😏
Anyways get wreaked.
