After Dua announced her pregnancy life took a major turn for the Khan family. It was good one though. Everyone was over the moon. Ali couldn't wait to hold his child. He was already in love with his unborn child regardless of their gender.

"Ali bhai I'm so excited. Mujhse toh intezaar hi nahin horha." Aliya squealed sitting beside her brother.

"Me too." He replied ruffling her head.

"Me to baby ko bohot hi zyada spoil karungi." Aliya gushed.

"Haan haan bilkul karna." Ali replied.

"Shukar hai ab ghar me isse bhi koi chota hoga aur ab ye badi hone ko maan jaegi." Shagufta said pointing towards her daughter.

"Haww amma, ab me bacchi nahin hoon na hi mai aise behave karti. Meri shadi fix krdi hai apne remember?? Aur baccho ki shadi nahi hoti." Aliya huffed at her mother. Ali laughed at his sister's behaviour.

"Tum kabhi badi hogi, mere liye toh nahi hogi." Ali said lovingly.

"Bhai ap to aisi baten karty hain jaise ap mujhse 70 saal bade hain." Aliya sighed dramatically. "Bhabhi ap kaise jhelti hain inki buddhi rooh ko." She turned to Dua who just laughed at her sister in law.

The family was busy chattering happily when a voice interrupted their quality time.

"Assalamoalykum." A gruff voice called out, entering the living room. Aliya recognised that voice, ofcourse she did. She's spent so much time being on the receiving end of that voice, spewing insults every opportunity given.

"Arey Shams aaao." Ali stood up and greeted his brother in law.

"Maine jaisi hi news suni mujhse raha hi nahi gaya.." The two men hugged as Shams congratulated Ali. There's a smile plastered on Shams' face which is a rare occurrence. He then hugged his sister, congratulating her.  And then congratulating Shagufta as their family had such a blessing coming through. Aliya remained indifferent to his presence. Neither happy nor sad about his arrival. That's his sister afterall.

After Shagufta left to get started started on with dinner, the three of them chatted animatedly amongst themselves. Aliya completely zoned out after Shams' arrival. She stared off in the distance and wondered what would it be like in the future. After the baby comes, they'll have to be in each other's presence often. As of now Aliya finds it easy to leave the vicinity in his presence but later she wouldn't be willing to be away from her niece/nephew just because of him. And considering he has the same relationship with the baby as her, it would be petty of her to ask him to stay away, and unrighful so.

She's brought of out her thought by the sound of her mother yelling her name. She immediately left the room the to hear what her mother had to say. She was told to prepare tea. She did as she was told and served it to everyone. As much as Dua wanted to sit there and chat she wasn't feeling well so she went up to her room to rest. Ali and Shams talked while listened to the men talk about anything and everything. Ali's phone rang making him excuse himself from the duo. The room fell into an uncomfortable silence. Aliya cleared her throat before speaking, the awkward silence was too unbearable.

"Uhm, Mubarak Ho?" She started but it came out more like a question. Shams raised a brow questioningly. "Tum mamu banne walo ho.." she added.

"Thanks, tumhe bhi." He replied curtly. She nodded at his words.

"Shams, I was thinking why don't we cut the bad blood? We're family now, in a few months we'll have a niece or nephew to share, we can't be acting like strangers. I apologise for what I did and I'm hoping you'd consider us being civil towards each other." Aliya said softly.

He stayed silent for a few seconds and stared at her face. She felt like she was being judged under his gaze.

"True." Was all he said. She felt the urge to throw her tea at his face but then he added. "I agree and I apologise for my past mistakes too. We should be nice to each other."

That was the first time Shams cracked a smile that was directed towards her. She smiled back at him. Happy that now they're not a ticking time bomb alone a room, waiting to blow off.
