"Owh—" Fukurō slaps her wrist, grumbling as she looks at the smushed mosquito on her palm. Mosquitoes meant night, which meant the end of her final training session was nearing.
"HAHAHA! I SENSE ANOTHER OPPONENT FOR THE GREAT GOD OF THE MOUNTAINS!!"
Groaning in disappointment, Fukurō continuously knocks her head on the tree. 'This guy again?'
Why was she so upset, you may ask? Because this very same... thing.. was constantly interrupting her training. It was always asking for food, like some sort of stray animal. Well, it sort of was, because it had the head of a boar, but the body of a human. But somehow, it spoke nothing near any calls or sounds of an animal. So, Fukurō had just nicknamed it 'the creature'.
"AHA!" The creature pops out of the trees, now newly equipped with two serrated swords. "OH. It's you again." The boar's head stares blankly at the person in front of him. The creature sticks out its palm, "Food." The hoarse voice demands. 'God! What's with people and not covering their chests? Don't they have any concerns?' Fukurō sighs, whacking the creature's palm with the wooden staff. "No. What's with you and food? Can't you like— Hunt, or something? Eat other animals-?"
"Smells good. Smells like food. Give it."
"No! I can't just pull food from my pockets!" Fukurō takes a step away from the creature, "Look- If I give you food, will you finally leave me alone? But If you don't, I'll get my master to chase you away!" Although the threat seemed good enough, she was unsure whether it affected the creature or not. She could never tell from that head. It's as if it wasn't alive.
The creature huffs, crossing its arms over its chest after it sticks the swords to the ground beside him. 'HA! I bet I can beat them anyways!' It tells itself, "OKAY, TREE GIRL! GO GET IT!" Fukurō rolls her eyes, "Fine. And stay quiet, because I'm sure that Shinazugawa-san would beat you to a pulp before you can even get a whiff of what I'd bring you." She presses her finger to her lips, telling him to stay silent both verbally and physically. 'Wait— Did it just call me Tree Girl? It's fine. It doesn't know my name anyways, and I don't plan on telling it.'
Fukurō lets out a relieved breath, holding a tray of udon. It was the only dish she was almost perfect at making, but she was sure that the creature was lucky for getting anything but a scolding. She couldn't even imagine going up to random people's houses. "Here." She says in low hiss, placing the tray in front of the creature abruptly. Even the way it just sat there, cross-legged and lounging as if it had no care in the world.
"HMPH." The creature lifts its boar head, the voice more clear. Wait— Lift? Fukurō stares in bewilderment, eyes wide. Her own breath seemed to stop, as well as the environment around her. Even the birds had fallen silent. "WHAT ARE YOU?!" She blurts out, cheeks tinged with pink.
Midway through scarfing down the meal, the creature— or person- or whatever it was— shout back with puffed cheeks. "HUH?! WHADDYA MEAN?! IM THE GREAT HASHIBIRA INOSUKE!! KING OF THE MOUNTAINS!" It points a jabbing finger at Fukurō, words muffled from the food. Fukurō grew jealous of another person once again; Why could this guy be blessed with such perfect eyes and hair, even though he wasn't even a girl?!
With no response, Inosuke continues to devour the udon, ignoring the girl in front of him. Fukurō doesn't mind the silence that follows, but feels oddly drawn to Inosuke; like a moth to a lamp. "... So.. Hashibira-san, huh? I'm Kazekachi Fukurō." She crossed her arms over one another, sitting in the same position Inosuke had. Despite telling herself that she would keep her identity unknown, she didn't exactly keep that promise.
