What the hell is taking Oliver so long? Practice has finished an hour ago.
As I walked into the gym to go get my brother, I catch a snippet of conversation between Theo and him. I slowed my pace, pretending to fiddle with my phone as I listened in.
"She's funny, smart, and... God is she pretty. She has this beautiful hair and pink full lips. I also love her smile and the sound of her laugh. Honestly I don't even know anything I don't like about her. I just find her truly amazing, you know?"
Who is he talking about?
Oliver listens carefully giving him small nods to let Theo know he's listening.
"Sounds like you've got it bad, honestly." He says. "That's how I used to talk about Gigi, remember? And look where I'm at."
"Yeah, I really do think you're right. But I just don't want to mess things up, you know? She means a lot to me, and I don't want to screw it up. Being friends with her has just been great, you know? I really just need her to stick around."
Oliver's response was muffled, but I caught a few words here and there. Something about having to go for it and making a move.
For a moment I thought he could be talking about me. Yet, a sudden realization crashed over me like a wave. Theo couldn't possibly be discussing his attraction to me with Oliver. After all, Oli was my brother, and Theo wouldn't ever tell him anything if it was about his little sister. Oliver would completely lose it.
Suppressing a chuckle, I continued on my way and went to get Oliver.
"Hey, Oliver, are you ready to go or not? I need to take a shower and get ready. Hurry up." I say, acting like I haven't been here for the past 10 minutes.
I have a quick bickering session with Oliver and just leave after it.
I spend all the way from college to my house thinking about what I heard.
I'm seriously so mad at myself, I swear. I managed to truly convinced myself Theo liked me.
Actually, he led me on. Driving me around, getting me ice cream, listening to me. I even convinced myself that he tried to kiss me and that he was the one who sent me the necklace.
I'm feel so fucking stupid. I fell for it, all the fucking act and the mixed signals.
If he thinks I'm gonna let him play me, he doesn't know me.
Treat me like an option, I'll show you how many I've got. This is all I needed to move on.
I knock in Oliver's door to make sure I don't interrupt anything again.
"You can come in." Oliver announces.
I enter, my eyes closed.
"Is everyone fully dressed?" I joke.
