Casey's PovEllie never explained the picture. Nor did I get a proper apology. Y'know what, I did in a way, just without words. I opened my phone and scrolled through my social medias before I had to deal with the day.
Knock, knock
"Casey, are you sleeping?" Abby's muffled voice called out from behind the door.
I rushed out of bed and tried to put on all my clothes before she came in, realizing Ellie didn't lock the door.
She opened the door and her eyes immediately widened. Abby closed the door immediately without words and waited outside.
"Sorry, I didn't know.."
"It's okay, you can come in now!"
She opened the door cautiously and stepped into my dorm. I remembered that after looking at my room for like 5 seconds you'd be able to imagine what went down last night.
"Maybe we should talk outside" I tried to hide my embarrassment by smiling as I slowly pushed her out of my room.
"Did Ellie apologize to you? Or even explain?"
"She didn't really explain but she definitely apologized!"
"Don't lie, Casey"
"I'm not, why would I be lying?"
"You're biting the inside of your cheek, you only do that when you're nervous about something"
"Oh, yeah"
It was silent for a moment before I spoke up again.
"It just wasn't that proper but she did say sorry"
"Did she? Or are you lying again"
I sighed and began walking to my class.
"I want her to talk to you again. I can't stand to see you upset like this"
"You don't deserve someone like her who can't even apologize to you"
Even through my efforts to not get angry at her, I really wasn't dealing with her attitude.
"Abby, this isn't any of your business. I know you're trying to help but you don't get to speak on her behalf"
"I was just trying to help"
"You've done enough. The least you can do is buy me breakfast"
I split my path, heading to my dorm to e-mail my professor about missing class. I could only imagine Abby's face. It took everything in me not to turn around just to see it.
I sat in my dorm for a while. No distractions, just me and my brain- and a few other vital organs.
When the sound of silence filled my ears, everything in my mind made a stop. My mood's been depending on how Ellie feels this whole time and we aren't even official.
Does she really like me or is she just using me? Before this, she didn't show any interest in me. She'd tease me whenever she got the chance, so why now?
