I couldn't sleep last night since I was stressing out so much over the game tomorrow. I hadn't actually played a game in a while since I skipped the last one, and if that wasn't enough, I now had to see ellie at the game too? I'll just pretend nothing happened, we were both tipsy and it was just an "in-the-moment" thing- I think.

I lazily turned over and slid my legs out of bed. I always hated the feeling of cold air hitting my skin as soon as I wake up. Fuck this, I don't have anything to do. I put my legs back under the covers and only got that comfort for a few seconds.

Knock, knock, knock

"House keeping!" Abby. I could tell it was her even through the fake high-pitched voice she used. Why would I believe I had house-keeping at a university. I groaned and pulled myself out of bed. My hair curled in front my eyes and I used my hands to push it into it's regular state. I crouched down to pick up my pants and pulled them up to my hips.

The door creaked open enough to see Abby's eyes and she pushed the door open without fully stepping in.

"What's up with you?" She questioned. Why the hell is she wearing my jersey? Besides the point- why is she even here?

"Nothing. What's with the jersey?" My eyes trailed her outfit. What was she thinking when putting this together? I'm guessing she just threw the jersey on to hype me up or something 'cause this is the ugliest outfit i've seen all year and it's september.

"Oh, I just threw it on. Are you ready for the game?" Her voice was crazed in excitement. She was the one who convinced me to join the team. I didn't want to join it for a while because I thought I wasn't built for any sports. I raised my eyebrows as I stared at the number on the jersey. I've been playing ever since my junior year of high school. She must've took it a while back since it was my old number.

"I don't know, Abs. I've had the worst headache ever since yesterday." She looked me up and down with an eyebrow raised.

"What are you telling me?" I rolled my eyes at her dumb question.

"I'm telling you I can't go. Plus, I have a ton of work!"

"You have to go, our team isn't the same without you!" I could tell she was forcing back a smile. Even when I lost, abby was my biggest supporter. My eyes reached the floor where I stared at my feet, contemplating if I should go. It'd be good if I went, obviously because i'm the most reliable teammate. Not to be petty but I am definitely the best player. I've mastered every position so no matter what I get put in, I can do my best. I bit the inside side of my lip.

"Yeah, okay. I'll go." My voice was quiet and I was really hoping she heard me over the music that was playing from my laptop inside. Lucky for me, she did. A smile quickly covered her face and she wrapped her arms around me, hugging me like I'd just came back from war. I never was much of a hugger but abby was an exception.

"Great! Do you want me to stay here and help you out?"

"I mean.. I have a ton of chores to do-"

"You know I can help with that too!" Abby seemed weirdly happy today. Not that she wasn't usually happy but she was acting different. I squinted my eyes slightly as I tried to figure out what was making her act like this. I tried my hardest not to smile when I saw her eyes, you could tell she'd been drinking.
