49 | Caught in the Rain

Jahaan and Tanya 's bond was growing every day. It was beyond anyone's understanding but everybody knew that their relationship was beyond simple friendship. It was unique just like both of them. Meanwhile, Jahaan  realized that Tanya  had become a special part of his life.

He was confused as to when he grew closer to her and she had become so important to him in his life.

College days were usual with the regular lectures by professors, going to the library to-gether, sitting at the cafeteria after classes, and laughing together. It was all going great and smooth as the friendship between Jahaan , Tanya , Illahi , and Jordan  now grew strong.

Amidst all this usual stuff, Illahi  had to go to her home for a few days to attend a wedding. While Illahi  was gone, Tanya  was left all alone. Although Jahaan  and Jordan  took great care of her, she was still living alone in her apartment.

After a month, they also had their mid-term tests, so everyone was busy studying and checking on their attendance in college. One day Tanya  and Jahaan  were sitting in the cafeteria when March suddenly spoke, " Hey Jahaan , I just realized that Jordan  has been away from college. I haven't even spoken to him for the past few days... phew these tests.. but it's strange not to see him around yeah..."

"Oh yeah, you're right. Even I didn't notice this. Where has Jordan  suddenly disappeared like this? Wait, I will ask my mom about him" Jahaan  replied, getting out of the cafeteria to make a call. After some time, he returned looking a bit upset.

Seeing Jahaan , Tanya  asked,"What's the matter? Is everything okay?"

"Mom came to know that jordan's grandmother had a heart attack 2 days ago. Well, she is still hospitalized", Jahaan  informed her. Tanya  was completely shocked to hear Jahaan .

"What? So much happened with Jordan  and he didn't even bother to inform anyone", Tanya  wondered.

"It's not his fault either. Jordan  has been very close to his grandmother since childhood. His father was in the army before shifting to becoming a businessman. When Jordan  and his sisters were young, their father was posted in a remote area.  One day, his father met with an accident and had to be admitted to the hospital for a long time. His mother shifted to a place around the hospital to look after his father. For almost 3 years they were there. Meanwhile,
Jordan  and her sisters were taken care of by his grandmother. During this period Jordan  grew immensely closer to his grandma and that's why Jordan  loves his grandmother so much. Whenever something happens to her, he forgets everything and just starts taking care of her. Maybe that's the reason, he forgot to tell anything about what has been happening at his end," Jahaan  explained.

"Oh no...so much has happened with Jordan  in his childhood... That's sad... He always portrays a happy-go-lucky face in front of us. No one can even think that he has experienced something like this. Jahaan , we don't even have an important lecture now....." Tanya  replied when suddenly, Jahaan  interrupted him.

"Yes, there is no lecture. So, I am going to the hospital, you can come along if you want," he completed the statement.

When Jahaan  and Tanya  reached the hospital to meet Jordan  and his grandmother, they noticed that Jordan's mom and dad were already in his grandmother's room. "Tanya ! Jahaan ! Hey, what a pleasant surprise. How are you both?" Jordan's mom asked.

Jordan 's grandmother was delighted on seeing Tanya .

"How are you feeling now?" Tanya  asked her. "I am fine, I can get up and run now, but all of them have forced me to lie here", she replied, making a face. Hearing her, everyone started laughing.
