Where's Mitch? It's been a while. He was just going to get soda right? Better go check on him. I made my way down the elevator and walked into the lobby. I gave it a quick scan and decided to walk throughout all of the bottom floor to look for him.
I honestly had opened every door downstairs and couldn't find him. I was just gonna drive to the store until I saw a plaid jacket slip into the elevator. I made my way towards it and quickly scooted into the elevator.
The first thing I saw was Mitch approaching a girl with napkins. He began to wipe her shirt and they smiled at each other. Don't get me wrong I'm glad Mitch looks somewhat happy again, but I can't shake this feeling in my abdomen. It's like someone was repeatedly clenching my stomach. It makes me angry, but I don't know why.
Mitch is also a very attractive man. I would be lying if I said I never thought about him when I sleep. But it's just some silly crush, it should wear off soon. But as of right now, it's doing anything but that.
I pull Mitch away from the girl and smashed his lips against mine. He was shocked I could tell from the way he froze up, but he did close his eyes. I opened my eyes to see the girl facing another way, with a look of awkwardness of her face. I smirked to myself and as soon as she walked out of the elevator, I pulled away from his lips.
That kiss, weird. It was just...okay. Wasn't amazing, wasn't horrible, just okay. Mitch called after the girl and she kept walking.
"Klarissa?! What was that?!" Mitch whisper-yelled at me.
"What do you mean, Mitch?" I say biting my lip. Mitch's fists began to clench.
"Don't play dumb with me. Why did you kiss me?" He replied in a serious tone.
I sighed and dropped the act. "I don't know, I just, couldn't stand to see you with that girl. I don't know what it is, but I just didn't like the look of it".
"She's just a girl, we smiled at each other. What's the big deal?" He said in a softer tone.
Okay, now he needed to stop acting. I saw the look in his eye. It was love, maybe not that intense but he did like her. He smiled and his eyes scrunched up, that's how he smiles honestly. His cheeks were slightly flushed and that's when I confirmed that he was feeling something. He was being shy around her. Mitch is never shy, not even with his friends. But he was shy around her, he likes her.
"Mitch don't try to trick me. I saw how you were looking at her. Your cheeks were flushed, your eyes were squinted. You weren't shy I know it" I said truthfully.
"So I was shy? What's the matter with that?"
"Nothing, it just proves that you like her"'I said with another smirk.
"What?! No, I don't like her. We just met" Mitch says with a scoff.
I think back to the appearance of the girl. Her features were impeccably rememberable. She looked a lot like Y/N but of course, I know that wouldn't be possible. I also know that Mitch isn't over her, but he needs to be careful with who he opens himself up to.
I sighed and thought about the girl again. "I'm kind of glad that you found some girl you're interested in. But doesn't she kind of resemble Y/N?"
"Yeah, they both have those beautiful smiles, cute nose, and hair that looks soft" he says looking down. He places the now half full bottles of soda on the elevator floor. I follow his eyes and see that he's twisting a stone ring around on his left finger.
