Chapter 13
Shawn P.O.V.
I knew about Jennifer's tricks. She tried to kill someone so innocent, so lovable, so worthy of life. I confronted her to try and convince her that what she was doing was insane and was triggered by revenge and lust.
All that did was get me a one-way ticket to torture.
She knocked me out and attached another electrical shock collar to my neck. She tied me up and I found an intelligent escape method.
Once she found out I was gone, she set the dial and shocked me. The setting must've been 9 because I felt as though the life was being drained out of me, but I lived. It left my body and hair charred.
I was still able to move, so I fled in search of Y/N. But not without slicing Jennifer's throat and smearing her blood on her own face. That's exactly what I did.
Maybe my pity was enough for me to at least kiss Y/N. I know it sounds selfish, but I need her.
I was also working out some negotiations with Notch, speaking of possible freedom. With another guest, Y/N. Notch and I have always been on best terms, so this would allow me to live my life with the girl of my dreams. Also, she'd forget about Mitch.
That was until I got an arrow to the face and met my untimely death.
Or so, she thinks.
Thank you brother, you were my favorite relative and I will never forget that. You've made an amazing sacrifice.
Your P.O.V.
I ran towards the body and stroked it. Nothing could stop my tears from flowing as I caressed Shawn's lifeless face. I didn't know. I didn't mean to. I just wanted to talk to him.
"I'm so sorry" I whispered to the sky. I kissed Shawn's lips very gently and left him to decay.
My entire face was wet as I remembered the sound of the cannon. Mitch......is he okay?
I quickly wiped my face of any evidence of crying and ran towards our cave. He has to be alive, I cannot lose two people.
As I approached the entrance, I saw no one. Tears began to form until I felt arms hugging me from behind and a slight chuckle hit my ear.
I turned around and saw Mitch. I pulled out of his grasp and stared at him.
"Mitch don't do that!" I exclaimed angered.
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to see your face safe and sound" he said with a smile.
"You scared me to death. I thought you were dead!" I responded.
His smile began to fade. "I-I didn't know" he said. "I'm sorry."I sighed with relief and jumped into his arms, panting from fear. "I'm sorry" he repeated stroking my hair softly.
I released him and he led me into the cave. A cannon sounded.
6 people left.
4 more to go, I thought. Good, Mitch and I may be able to get out of here. The sun's position looked as though it represented some time after noon.
Mitch and I ate 2 cookies and cooked chicken to fill our hunger. We then sat down and just talked about anything. Something just to get our mind off of death for now. He told me about Jerome and I cuddled him for comfort. That must've been horrible to experience.
"Well, Mitch I need to brush up on my combat. I need to learn how to fight" I said.
"You already know how" he said. "There's nothing I need to teach you".
"I mean as in hand-to-hand. Like punches and kicks and stuff". I replied.
"I'm good but I'm not perfect". He said.
"That's why I want you to teach me".
He shrugged "Sure. But I'm taking away your bow for now". I sighed as he removed it from my back.We moved into a more open space of the cave. We readied our stances and Mitch said "Go ahead and strike. I want to see what you already know and I can block"
I began to reach for my bow, then I remembered that he took them away. We both smirked and I threw a punch at his face he dodged it and I went for a kick to his stomach. He caught my foot and smiled. "Don't go easy on me" I said.
I again went for a punch but he caught my fist. "You aren't half bad" he complimented. "Maybe just a little progr-" he started. I kick my foot at his ankle and he tripped and fell onto his front.
"Don't let your guard down" I said in a sly voice. He grinned and got up.
"One more round" I said. He nodded.I lunged at him and tried to kick his side. He caught my high with his hand and smirked a little. My fist almost got to his face, but he caught my wrist and pulled me closer to him. One of my legs was around his waist and his free hand was on my waist. His smirk grew larger.
Mitch P.O.V.
She was good. This was somewhat fun, but maybe we should have even more fun. I neared my lips to hers and she chuckled under the feeling of my breath on her lips. Our mouths met and sparks flew between us. I kissed her in a subtle way until things got heated. She wrapped her other leg around my waist and I hoisted her up. My arms were on her thighs supporting her and her arms roamed my hair and neck.
I led us over to the bed and I sat down, never parting our lips. Our lips glided together with a little foreplay using our tongues until I pulled away. We were both panting and our foreheads rested on each other's. After a few seconds, she broke our silence.
"Good session" she said and we both smiled widely. "Let's do it again sometime" I offered.
