"OKAY! I'M SORRYYYYY!"

Donnie rolled his eyes as Leo trailed behind him into the lab, ignoring the other two for the moment as Raph attempted to murder his little brother.

"I tell him to wake Leo up, he dumps a bucket of water on Raph's head..." He mumbled to himself in annoyance as he went to the scanner that sat on his desk and removed the half-watch from the compartment it lied in.

Leo shook his head as he watched them run rampant around the room like Tom and Jerry, before finally turning away and focusing in on what Donnie needed to show him, eyes landing on the little relic in his brother's hand.

"Speaking of, you want to tell me why he woke me up? You figure something out?"

Donnie nodded in response, but inside he still felt that his discovery wasn't enough. Because even though he had technically found something new, he hadn't gotten any leads from it.

.....yet.

"I sort of did." He sighed. "The frame fell and busted again, and this was embedded in the stone."

He held the half-watch out towards Leo, his blue banded brother plucking the little object from his hand and examining it with furrowed eyebrows.

"Where's the other half? Was it already broken?" His eyes raised with his question, looking for an answer that the genius didn't have, and seeing that written in his expression, which held an uncertainty that never seemed to be there until recently.

"It was. And I already pretty well obliterated the rest of the frame, hoping there was more, but that seems to have been it."

Leo's eyes dropped again, as Donnie left him to examine it while he checked for any results his scanner had come up with on the monitor wall.

Both for finding out what it may be and if there's any information on it, and rerunning a deep scan now that it's separate from the stone, to see how the results come out on its own.

He didn't really need to look to know what he'd see when it came to the deep scan, but seeing the glowing digits flash across the screen still brought a slight feeling of accomplishment. He'd finally been able to figure one very small piece of this out.

"Remember how I said the scan on the frame showed an unknown substance in the materials?" The leader nodded to his question, eyes flicking towards the screen where his brothers already lied, leaning on the back of Donnie's desk chair to peer over his shoulder.

"Let me guess. It wasn't the frame?"

Donnie grinned slightly and nodded, appreciative of the fact that Leo could piece these things together on his own.

"Exactly. The frame itself consists of a basic limestone composition, made mostly from calcite, and any other naturally occuring elements that were in the region it formed. But the gold and the unknown substance came from this busted pocket watch that the stone somehow formed around."

"And I found it!" Mikey hollered from just outside the lab, even though they could hear him just fine if he spoke normally. "Donnie was all ready to give up, but guess who saved the day?! Triple threat, bros!"

He made a weird punk pose of crossing his arms over his chest with two of his three fingers held out on each hand, a smug expression on his face. Donnie only rolled his eyes as they floated back to the screen.

"Three o'clock, Mikey." He mumbled, and the turtle's eyes shot to a clock on the wall, confusion flashing through them.

"No it's n-" His protest was cut of as a football came flying from his right and crashed into the side of his head, making him stumble back and trip over his own feet, Raph's triumphant chuckle sounding from the direction the ball came from as the youngest turtle hit the floor.
