"Too slow, Arashi." The boy stood with a wooden sword pointed at his downed opponent's chest, a smug grin on his lips at his quick victory. That wasn't really anything new.

The boy on the ground rolled his eyes and shoved the end of the training sword away, huffing as he stood with his own sword in hand and a mostly concealed glare in his dark gaze.

"Stop calling me that. I have a name."

It was the other boys turn to roll his eyes as the two made their way to the weapon rack and put their training swords away, a small chuckle falling from the victor's lips.

"You know, you used to hate using your real name."

Another annoyed eye roll.

"And you used to believe in unicorns. We were dumb little kids, and we're not now. Simple as that, so drop it."

"Drop what?"

The two turned towards the woods as the voice reached their ears, eyes landing on a girl with long hair cascading down her back from its high ponytail, and an identical training uniform as the two boys wore. Her black eyes held the same childish light that they always had, despite her change in appearance over the last several years, and her almost constant cheery smile adorned her lips.

"You're late, Sakura. Practice is over." The short haired hot head pointed out, a questioning look going towards the large pockets of her loose fitting slacks, that had bright pink flowers sticking out of them.

She in turn pulled the flowers out and shrugged, standing in front of the two to show them the small bouquet.

"Sorry, I was on my way and got side tracked." She shoved the flowers towards the two, eyes bright. "Aren't these flowers so pretty? I'm gonna get a pot later and dig some up to plant next to my garden."

Despite how excited she was, the two boys couldn't share it, instead only worrying for their friend and her lack of commitment to their training.

The more level headed of the two raised a hand to the back of his neck as he tried to find the right way to address the problem, not wanting to say the wrong thing.

"That's great, but you really should've been here." His soft brown eyes held hers, the level of care in them clearly shown. "You know how rare it is for girls to be accepted into this, and if you don't take it seriously, it won't be a good outcome."

He figured that she knew what he meant, and by the regretful look on her face, was sure that she did. But despite that, his non-filtered friend still had to add his two cents.

"And by that he means that you'll get kicked out and bring shame to your whole family."

He got a glare from the brown eyed boy at his unhelpful input, only tilting his head as if to say, 'what? It's true'.

"Yeah, yeah, I know." She put the flowers back and folded her arms over her chest. "It's important, I get it. I just kinda wish I had never even joined."

"But you did."

She shot a glare at the shorter boy, very much over his helpful hints, and his attitude in general most of the time.

"Because of you." Her voice dropped low as her eyes narrowed. "I only tried to join to prove a point to you, since 'Girl's can't fight.'" The last bit was said in a mocking deep voice, imitating the words that he had said many times before.

"Well maybe if you didn't have an enormous ego, you wouldn't have tried to prove me wrong."

"Oh yeah, like you have room to talk."
