Lying on the floor, feeling a little pile of fabric under his head as pillow, Jay was trying to register what he just heard.
He had just heard his beloved Jungwon putting two divinities in front of their responsibilities, like he would discipline a child, and openly menace them. Now, somehow, the latter was worriedly taking care of him with a whiny expression on his face.
"Are you alright Jay? How do you feel?"
"I feel...like I came back from the dead."
Jungwon jumped to his neck to hug him.
"Don't even joke about that! I really thought you died!"
Jay patted Jungwon's back and kissed his shoulder.
"Did you really mean what you said to them just now?"
"You heard?"
"Just a little...You called me the 'light of your life', your 'salvation'."
Jungwon came to look him in the eyes,
"And you called me your god."
Jay lowered his head, laughing.
"What do you think they'll do now?"
"Who knows? Hopefully they'll lay low. Their bet is ruined now anyway."
"Their bet?"
"Ahem, their bet on our lives."
"You mean...the prophecy and our fates, that is all but just a bet?"
"Right."
"These rotten gods! I'm gonna kill them!"
Jungwon laughed.
"Sadly, you can't! Not as we understand death at least. It would be nice if they could both loose their bet and therefore their powers, but I don't think it's possible. They also maintain this world's balance, supposedly."
Jay calmed down. He contemplated Jungwon. While stroking his cheek, he whispered,
"I wish you hadn't had this life."
"I wouldn't have met you then."
"You wouldn't have needed me."
"I would have wanted you."
Jay fell silent.
As if to prove his words, Jungwon slowly leaned towards Jay and Jay responded by closing the distance for a kiss.
For once in his life, Jay had his heart at peace. He believed Jungwon's words now. They weren't enemies. They weren't born for each other either. But Balance in its perfection, made them complete one another.
The kiss was sweet. Until it became hot. Jungwon was diving deeper and deeper onto Jay, almost pushing him down. Until Jay stopped him,
"Jungwon."
"Hm?"
"Let's move to a more inviting place. I don't think we should do it here."
Jungwon was about to argue, but looked around. When he saw the horror lying around them, he had to agree.
Jay got on his feet, suddenly feeling lighter and very energized. He helped Jungwon up and without warning, swept him off his feet to carry him to his room, cheered by Jungwon's giggles.
