A month after their first mission, Jay and Jungwon were already coming back from their third one. It seemed like the Temple had been overworking them on purpose, giving them harder missions, hoping for Jay to give up and leave Jungwon's side.
But Jay was enjoying himself to the fullest. He was fighting so much that his skills had improved even more. He also started his classes, even if he didn't have that much time because of the missions.
The young boy was starting to change. He wasn't this dumb and rough kid roaming around the slums anymore. By meeting so many different people, experiencing various environment and listening to Jungwon's wise guidance, his mind was expending. He was getting the hang of the world surrounding him.
That's why his newly sharpened instinct started tingling when a priest came to call for him. He turned to Jungwon, who somehow managed to decipher the worry on his blank face.
"Go, and hurry up, we need to prepare for our next mission," said the Saint with a reassuring smile.
But for some reasons, Jay felt like they wouldn't meet again for a while if he left that room. He nodded at Jungwon and followed the priest.
After following the priest, Jay was brought to an imperial guard, then escorted back to the Imperial Palace, without explanations nor say in the matter.
"Why was I called here?" he roared at the general welcoming him, when he arrived at the training grounds.
"Imperial Crown Knight, you're finally here! We all are so thankful that you came for-"
Jay grabbed his head before he could finish talking,
"Listen, I'm not here because I want to. I just left behind an important someone that I can't wait to go back to. So, you better be more concise with your words."
The poor general felt his skull about to break. He was quick to resume,
"A new mission to protect the mines of the East! The land is too steep and mountainous for our troups to be as efficient as usual! We need you!"
Jay threw him aside, exasperated. He couldn't say no to the Empress. Who knows what shady tricks she would use if he didn't obey.
The mission seemed easy enough anyway. He'd be back in a week. He sent a messenger to Jungwon and joined his troups to prepare for departure.
"How smart! An imperial mission. At last, they're not together anymore."
"This is nothing. The real show will begin only after he completes his Crown Knight duty."
While Jay was driven far to the East by Chaos' whispers, Jungwon was, on the contrary, confined to the Temple. The Head Priest suddenly had no new mission to send him on. The latter then advised him to take advantage of this time off to reinforce his prayers.
Jungwon was seething. Jay had suddenly disappeared and he was, once again, stuck in this oppressing temple with eyes everywhere.
These missions with Jay had been breaths of fresh air for him, in the middle of his over-disciplined life. With Jay, life seemed easier, as if Jungwon could be himself for once, not just a Saint.
Now that he had left, nothing good was coming up Jungwon's mind.

This ordeal, which was supposed to only last a few days, had went on for what seemed like forever. Months on end of the two boys being connected only by their thoughts.
After almost half a year of incessant fighting, Jay finally came back, victorious.
Hybe's national hero and Imperial Crown Knight now had gained a new nickname: "Divine Thunder Master Jongseong". The most pompous nickname yet, he thought.
Turns out the powers Chaos promised were yet to be completely awakened. During his time at war, Jay discovered a new way he could control energy that looked very much like lightning coming out of his palms. Hence the nickname.
As he feared, as soon as he reached the capital, the Empress called for him.
"She's starting to make it into a habit. Why is my curse not working when I need it to...," Jay was thinking while walking towards the Palace's conference room.
Jay still had this grudge against the Empress because of her fake prophet son, but he didn't hate conversing with her. However, he didn't like having to meet her because he always felt like an aura of bad news was always surrounding her.
And that day, this bad news aura materialized itself into a young girl, standing right next to the Empress.
