Y/n's Pov:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I grasp the cold metal cylinder in my palm, examining the object, my thumb passes over the letters stamped into the side.
"WCKED"
My brows furrow in concentration, trying to make sense of the significant of these letters, they're on all of our supplies, someone said them in my vision, and now they're inside a griever.
I don't know what to believe anymore, my thoughts scramble to pick a side, are they good? Evil? The lady in my dream said "WCKED is good", but should I trust her? I don't even know who she is.
Now that I think about it- sounded more like she was trying to convince me they were good.
Why would they send us supplies to keep us alive, then kill us off with monsters? It makes zero sense, it sounds like a waste of resources on some scrawny confused teenagers.
There's got to be a bigger picture to all of this.
I hand the device back to Newt who takes a closer look at it. We're back inside the pavilion, just Newt and Gally with us, as we show them our discovery.
"These are the same letters we get on our supplies." Newt states, bewildered.
"Yeah- whoever put us here obviously made the grievers." Thomas explains.
"Now this is the first real clue, the first real anything we've found in years, right Minho, Y/n?" He glances toward us awaiting our approval.
"Right." We both confirm.
"Newt- we have to go back out there." Thomas urges.
"Who knows where this might lead us?" I add, my tone assuring and optimistic, I hope he'll agree, maybe even Gally as well.
I've felt so damned these last few months after mapping out the entire maze, I really thought we'd hit a dead end, but now we actually have something unheard of before.
"You see what he's doing right?" Gally asks, I sense a heavy accusation brewing.
"First he breaks our rules, then he tries to convince us to abandon them totally. The rules are the only things that have ever held us together- why now are we questioning that?" He defends.
"If Alby where here you know he'd agree with me, this shank needs to be punished."
I sigh lightly but say nothing. He's not totally wrong I suppose, Thomas did go in without being a runner, and the rules have been the only thing keeping us together. I'm also ninety-nine percent sure Alby would agree.
I feel Thomas stare into the side of my head, but I avoid his gaze.
"You're right. Thomas broke the rules." Newt declares. I hold my breath waiting for the punishment, although I doubt Newt will be harsh.
"One night in the pit, and no food." I exhale in relief, that's nothing.
"Oh come on Newt! One night in the pit? You think that's gonna stop him from going into the maze?" Gally argues, raising his voice as his face reddens in anger.
My blood boils, why is he being so harsh? I open my mouth to say something-
"No. And we can't just have non-runners running into the maze whenever they feel like it." Newt cuts in before I get a word out.
"So lets just make this official- starting tomorrow, you're a runner."
I want to take a photo of Gally's face right now, frame it, and hang it it proudly on his hut door for everyone to see.
