Y/n's Pov:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Were back in the maze again, standing in a random corridor of section seven which is not supposed to be open, the same place where I was almost mauled by a griever two days ago, yay.
"Thomas- there's nothing here." I sigh, the familiar sense of defeat washing over me.
His hand frantically pass over the walls examining the area, a light coat of sweat covers his tan skin.
"The beeping is getting faster- it's gotta be leading us somewhere."
The griever device we brought into the maze began beeping as we got into section seven, depending on where we turn it sometimes slows down or speeds up. It could be taking us somewhere, but we've been going at it for forty five minutes, and instead of hope all I have is a headache.
"I've ran this a million times- there's no secret door, or latch, or stone you need to push, it's just wal-"
I may have spoken too soon.
A faint rumbling echoes from the wall beside us, the vibrations travel through the souls of my feet.
A whole new door is opening up, to a corridor I've never seen in my two years here, my jaw drops.
Its a grand room, a concrete path slicing straight through the center. There's hollow pits on either side of it, at the end of the room lies- oh great, another wall.
Thomas and I both peak our heads into the room cautiously, before slipping inside.
"No secret door huh?" He mocks.
"Okay- no need to rub it in." I glare, before gazing around the room mouth still handling slightly agape at the discovery. I cant believe this- two years later and this is actually something new.
A hand lightly touches my jaw and softly closes my agape mouth.
"You're practically drooling over a room." Thomas perks.
"What can I say, it's a very good looking room." I shrug.
"That's probably because I'm in it."
"Oh my god- your so full of yourself." I groan, rolling my eyes at his huge ego.
"You didn't deny it." He shrugs.
"Can we focus please?" I ask seriously this time, I don't want to spend any more time here than needed or else Newt will actually murder me, I barely go him to let me go in the maze again.
"Yup. Focusing." He glances down at the device in his hands, as the beeping accelerates rapidly. We continue down the concrete path, nearing the end of the room, the beeping persists but nothing happens.
"Looks like another dead end." I Lean a shoulder against the cold concrete wall.
Pew. A soft noise echoes from the device, as the red lights on it suddenly turn neon green.
The wall being to lift from beside me as I launch myself away, falling back to step beside Thomas, we gaze with wide eyes as another secret door rises, then behind that one another, and another, until a circular metal opening reveals itself at the end of the hallway.
What the hell is this? This is where the grievers go? The device would be inside a griever and open up these doors when it gets close enough, so I'm not exactly to sure I want to go down there.
"Are you sure about this?" I ask.
"Nope." Thomas replies, looking hesitant himself.
"That's reassuring." I murmur, before stepping inside slowly, half paranoid the doors will close on top of me as I pass under them.
