~ Story ~

You venture into the forest with the other bounty hunters. All are more well armed and suited compared to yourself. Perhaps you came a little unprepared for this journey, but the statement that is written on the note is what preoccupies you from your vulnerability. What did that note mean? And as we headed further we see that the blood trail ends here. There is no body however, but there is a live bear, from the chunk missing from its ear. You can tell that it's the very same bear that was supposedly killed the other night at the tavern. It's facing away from all of you. This stuns not only you, but the rest of the men, but you all move to surround the bear regardless. Surprisingly however, the animal is relatively docile. No. You look closer, it's more frightened and obedient than uncaring. We moved to the front of the bear and were shocked to see the very same girl from the tavern. The bear's nose is pressed gently into the palm of her hand and it is uttering a low guttural noise of submission. What was going on here? You cry out for him to wait, but are stopped by a sudden movement. As you, like your companions, swivel your head around to the bounty hunter who just yelled. You find the girl's foot hovering above his head. The movement is slow and testing, like in slow motion, but from the way that the fang filled toothy grin slits her face you know somehow. It was a natural pause, an intentional taunt before finally the creature's clawed foot slammed firmly into the space between the Bounty Hunter's eyes and he was sent flying like a ragdoll. The sickening sound of flesh hitting wood rings out and suddenly the air was filled with explosions of gunfire. You stagger back, watching as the humanoid-like creature with pasty skin, angry red stripes, and bright fiery eyes, one by one attacked the twenty-something that were with you. A single shot rings out and you see an entire chunk of flesh and bone tear away from the female-esk body. It shrieks and it's head snaps, turning 360 degrees in the direction of a poor soul that took aim. It's mouth hanging open with knife-like teeth, blood most likely it's own, spilling onto the ground. The man's breathing catches in his throat and he takes aim again. The creature's body twists in a fantastical, impossible fashion, spine cracking. It extends the top half of itself, watching the direction of the man. You fear for his life as the Beast seems more enraged and not likely to leave him alone in one piece.

Surprise, surprise. You'll have two chances to make a choice in this chapter. Here's your first choice.

1: Launch yourself between the other bounty hunter and the Beast

2: Or Slink back and take aim with either your own gun or when you take from the fallen hunters around you at the Beast.

Whatever choice you made.

Before the Beast gets close enough, it utters a deafening cry, a hellish sound, like a thousand gremlins crying. Your hands go to your ears and you press down as hard as you can. Breath hitching at the pain it causes your brain and stinging your eardrums. The shriek turns into a ringing as it dies down and you hardly have time to adjust before you realize you're on your knees and hands still on your ears. You swallow as heavy footsteps shake the ground and they grow heavier and heavier. You feel the ground almost dip like a mattress as you spy between the crack of your cringing eyelids. A pair of pale clawed, almost reptilian feet. Marks the color of blood, splattered with actual blood, covered the tough leathery skin. A voice you've heard in a much less frightening tone echoes above you. "There's a monster standing over you. So, what will you do?"

This is your final choice. What will you do?

1: Take the gun and shoot her between the eyes.

2: Leave the gun be and attempt to talk to the Beast.

3: Or run away and find help.

This is your final choice. I'll give you one chance to change the answers as you'd like. However, once that's done, please be honest with your answers. Doing so will reflect in your results greatly. Remember, it is alright if you've posted your answers as a comment for each chapter. Please post your answers on the final judgment page. From there, you'll see whether or not you had what it took to tame the Beast, will you survive?
