- So no one has any idea where Adal is, I ask.

- I never said I had no idea, Trevor says.

- But how, I say.

- Of course I know where he is, Trevor says.

- Then let's go get him, I say. Trevor scoffs.

- Easier said than done. He's in the human world, Trevor says. Dante and I stare at Trevor in shock.

- How did he get through without the key, I ask.

- He doesn't need it since whoever has the key's caused a tear in the barrier already. This'll happen when the one using the key isn't the creator. That's why students have been kept away from the wall. If they figure out that anyone can leave, chaos will certainly esure in the human world, Trevor says.

- But then why would Adal want to go out there on his own, I ask.

- Perhaps to prove himself or to avoid working with me, Trevor says.

- But he could get himself killed. We don't know what the broken barrier's done to the human world, I say.

- If he wants to act rashly, then let him. There's no stopping that stubborn fool, Trevor says.

- Adal may not be the easiest person to get along with, but he's always looked out for me. I'm going to bring him back myself, I say.

- Wait, yourself, Dante asks.

- I can navigate the human world the most efficiently, it's my home, after all. You two say here and keep the panic at bay, I say.

- Princess, Dante says. Dante eyes me worriedly, then he sighs.

- He really shouldn't be galavanting in the human world. We don't know what's waiting there for him. Watch yourself, alright, Princess, Dante asks.

- I will. I promise. It shouldn't be that hard, right. I'm tracking down a man with horns on his head, I say.

- His horns wouldn't be visible in the human world, Trevor says.

- Seriously, I ask. Just then, I feel a warm hand on my back, I look up to see Dante mustering a smile for me.

- You'll find him, love, Dante says. Dante sends a daggered look at Trevor.

- You know, you could at least act concerned, Dante says. Trevor rolls his eyes.

- We'll accompany you to the tear in the barrier, Trevor says. I nod and follow behind Trevor.

- I'll bring Adal back, no matter what, I say in my head.

I cross the barrier, the strange magic washing over me with a shiver. I shield my eyes. Despite being night in the demon world, it's broad daylight here.

- Now. How am I going to find Adal. I don't even know where I am, I say in my head.

I begin walking down the main road, hoping for some clue as to where Adal could be. The town I cross into looks like any medium-sized town, really, but it feels.

- Why does everything feel so strange. Is it just because I've been away for so long, I ask in my head. As I'm contemplating this, I hear a car horn blare. I look up to see that one car has scraped into another, leaving scratch along the side. The driver jumps out of the car. I watch in horror as the man drags the other driver out of his car and punches him in the face. I quickly walk ahead, looking at the town with new eyes. I suddenly realize everyone seems angry, scowling and snapping at each other. Lost in my thought, I don't notice the man coming toward me until I run into him.
