Draco and I race down to the courtyard to see what's going on. As we arrive, Adal tackles Dante, and they both go down.

- Stop. What are you two doing, I yell. They both look up, and Dante takes the opportunity to kick Adal off of him. Draco helps Dante up, while I offer Adal my hand.

- What's going on, Draco asks.

- This fool says he's not going to help, Adal shouts.

- That's not what I said. I said it's not going to work, Dante yells.

- Yeah, it probably won't work if you're not even willing to try, Adal yells.

- Look, I don't know what's going on, but we have a meeting to get to. Can we settle this afterwards, I ask. Adal shakes me off, scoffing.

- Whatever. Let's go, Adal says.

- So you two think the one who jumped the portal is a fallen angel, Draco asks.

- It's Kira's theory, Adal says.

- The tablet was missing a lot of pieces, but that's what I believe it meant. It also mentioned a wolf in sheep's clothing, I say.

- That's obviously talking about Trevor, Dante says.

- Hey, I'm on your side now, Trevor says.

- Stop that. Fighting about this isn't helping. Draco, are you sure that the pendant that the hooded figure wore was the Key, I ask.

- I'm positive. I would know it anywhere, Draco says. Draco looks down, and I put a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

- What we need to do is unify the student body. Where does each house stand, I ask.

- It's a mixed bag. Most of the houses are divided, Draco says.

- With the exception of the Seduction dorm, they're all rooting for neutrality, Adal says.

- Hmm. They're our best bet then. We need to approach them, try to sway them to our side, I say.

- Which was exactly my plan. But Dante is refusing, Adal says. I turn to Dante with a confused look, and he crosses his arms over his chest.

- It won't work. You can't just change people's minds, Dante says.

- What's gotten into him, I ask in my head.

- Besides, I'm not entirely convinced humans are worth saving. Adal told me about what went on when you were in the human world, people were attacking each other for no reason. I'm not going to advocate for something I don't believe in, Dante says. We're all silent for a moment.

- Then we'll do it without you. Come on, let's go to the Seduction dorm, Adal says. We follow him out of the orientation room. But I sneak a glance over my shoulder to see Dante sadly staring at the floor.

- Dante, I say in my head.

We soon head to the Seduction dorm, but even with the four of us, we're unable to convince the students to join our side.

- I'm sorry everyone, this is my fault, I say.

- It's not. They're just all idiots, Adal says.

- I don't understand how they can still refuse to trust the Princess of Darkness, Draco says.

- What are we supposed to do now, Trevor asks.

- I'm going to try talking to Dante one more time, I say.

Dante looks up in surprise as I enter his room.

- Darling, what are you doing here, Dante asks. I shake my head sadly.
