✧✦ PART ONE ✦✧

⤷ TWO; the permanent scar ⤶

THE PRINCESS KNEW THAT A DRAGONS NATURE was not that of a calm one, so waking up to two rather large creatures who were snuggling into her was a strange feeling. As Daenys opened her swollen lilac eyes to the harsh light, she took in her surroundings with a heavy heart.

Twas the morn after her lovely grandsires departure and the grief was swallowing the six year old deeply, leaning against large beast who hadn't even moved an inch even when he heard the sound of a carriage in the distance.

Unfortunately, her mount woke grumbling in anger at the disturbance, nestling into his princess gently. As though Karnax could feel the sadness in her heart, a soft whining left him as he watched his rider stare at what was left of her grandsires pyre. If only it was all a dream but was not, her life was different, and nothing could be done about it.

As if an eternity had passed with her staring at the smoke and ash when the sound of pattering feet approaching the three grieving dragons, the sound of her little sisters voice echoed her ears, Daenys felt as her heart had stopped as she watched her unruly dragon begin to stand.

She dressed in a beautiful white gown with her long hair braided into a crown on top of her head. Rhaenyra naively raced towards her sister without taking in the fact that Karnax was baring his razor-sharp teeth at her as she approached the three.

Standing up in panic as she watched her dragon make his way to her sister, "SISTER NO!" her voice croaked, making her parents, her uncle, and guards stare at the little princess in fear. He had no choice but to watch as the beast raced towards Little rhaenyra, who quickly stumbled back in horror.

Two screams leaving the princesses, one terrified the other desperate. Not realising her sister had stood bravely in front of her, Rhaenyra's tears fogging her sight.

Her parents looked in anguish as their daughter stood bravely in front of her little sister just as a large claw was brought down her stomach, Karnax's protective nature overtaking him so much that he had yet to realise that it was his rider before him.

Only when the small scream of pain left Daenys was when his rage cleared, Vermithor roaring at the younglings stupidity.

Opening her eyes in realising that the pain never came, Rhaenyra looked to see her sisters lilac eyes staring at her in worry. Looking to see the blood pouring from her sister made Rhaenyra tear up.

Her father and Uncle Daemon raced towards the pair alongside the kings guards, swords drawn. Confused and angered, Karnax let out an earthy roar. "Nyra run to Father." Not allowing any argument, her sister quickly raced towards their father, hugging him.

"Daor Karnax. SERVE ME!" At her screaming command, the dragon whimpered back."Calm Karnax." Daenys softly spoke in High Valyrian, allowing Karnax to nestle his snout into her bleeding form.

Whimpers leaving the beast, fully regretful. Her family watched as she nodded to the dragon keepers, who quickly walked forward with their long, pointy sticks whisking Karnax back to the pits.

Vermithor slowly walked forward, placing his snout to her head, nuzzling her before listening to her soft command. "Go, Vermithor. Go home." Almost falling as the large beast took flight to dragon mount where he would reside for the time being.

Turning to her father, holding a hand on her injured stomach as the king held his hand out to his daughters cheek, who immediately flinched, not wanting to feel the touch of another person. "My sweet dany. Come, we must get you to the maesters."

TURNING BACK TO HER GRANDSIRES PYRE  ━━━ a soft sigh left the princess as she finally left her grandsires side. Allowing her parents to rush her towards her to get cared for. Hugging her sister to her side, feeling as the pain subdue with her by her side.

"I'm sorry, sister. I didn't mean for you to get hurt." Her sisters sobbing voice echoed her ears.

Daenys looked at her sister with an attempted smile, her pain visible to her parents and uncle as she spoke to her little sister. "Nonsense, sister, twas not your fault. Never blame yourself." Hugging her sister to the side as she watched water build in her sisters eyes. "Remember, sister, we do not control dragons. It is merely that they wish to follow our blood that they listen to us."

Her father, King Viserys, looked at his daughter in pain as the blood began to seep harshly through the once lovely dress. He urged the carriage to hasten itself speed to the castle. Forever would this moment be remembered by her parents and uncle, one of the many moments she didn't hesitate to step in to protect Rhaenyra from harm.

FOR THE FUTURE, MAY SHE STAY THE SAME.
