✦✧ PART THREE ✧✦

⤷ TWENTY FIVE; the souls who deserved more⤶

IN HER SHORT LIFE TIME death became one of her dearest friends, after taking so many that she loved. It mattered not if you were pure or guilty, beautiful or ugly, smart or dumb. The stranger did not care, the matter was that it was not his fault in all honesty. He was just there to receive them with open arms, welcoming them.

But it did not matter.

The stranger was the stranger for a reason, in many eyes, he took away those who were underserving. In Daenys' case, she was able to see those who fell before her, like a bad dream but this was real.

High Tide was solemn in mourning for the Late Laena Velaryon, all who bore witness watched with sympathetic eyes as they listened to Lord Vaemond Velaryon speak of her memory. Not only was Rhaenyra receiving looks judgement but Daenys was receiving looks of surprise.

After all it had been ten years since her last appearance with only her husband, and to have not only one child but four overall was outstanding especially since the eldest looked similar to a certain guard.

As the ceremony continues, the children clutch onto their mother who watch in sadness as her oldest friend is lowered towards the sea in her stone casket, a custom to House Velaryon to depart as such.

Heavy in her heart as she heard the loud splash but she quickly soured as she heard the bitter man disrespect her sister and her children. After all jealousy was a horrid thing.

In the quiet air, a hearty chuckle echo the ceremony. The gall of her uncle to laugh at his own wife's funeral, though it was an obvious motion to get attention off of her sister who could barely stand the stares.

The ceremony ended moments after, to which all in attendance proceeded in the halls of High Tide. Offering their sympathy to the mourning family who were grief ridden.

An exchange of greetings, a swarm of hugs ambushed Dany as she felt little hands hug her from everywhere. Her siblings and nephews squeezing her as hard as they could.

"Get off its my turn." Disrespectful was one word, the other was adorable.

Coughing quietly to get their attention before she spoke "Now I know you all have missed me dearly, as I have you but this is a funeral and this is very disrespectful behaviour."

At her words they became somber, realising that she was right before apologising profusely. "Now I believe Lady Laena's children and family deserve your condolences." She stated watching as they bowed at her before following her order.

HER EYES SET ON the man who thought he had it all, the man who leant against the railing holding a goblet of wine. Clearing her throat gently before offering a soft smile "Uncle, my condolences. Laena was a soul who was undeserving of such an ending."
