the forest,
eastern earth kingdom.

"THAT WOLF SOUNDS SO SAD," KATARA OBSERVES as a howl echoes throughout the forest. After an hour of trekking along the woodland, the Water Tribe siblings had begun to get second thoughts. Of course, the idea of seeing their father again was alluring. Overwhelmingly so. So much so, in fact, that they think it might have blinded them from doing what was right. And staying by who was right. Katara couldn't believe she left Aang. What he did was wrong but Jing-hai's words were true. In Aang's condition, he should be doing much worse. In fact, he had experienced so much loss that if he were Zuko, his actions might even be justified. He had the motive the Fire Lord wished he had to make himself a martyr. But Aang didn't want war and destruction. Only the same kindness he wished had been shown to himself.

"It's probably wounded," Sokka comments miserably.

He, too, had been feeling awful since the fight. And he yearned to see Jing-hai again with such fierceness he wasn't quite sure what it meant.
