"Mom? Dad?" Aria called out while walking into the house.
"Your dad's at work. What's up?" Her mom asked, lazily putting a book down.
"Oh I was gonna asked if I could go out with my friends. We're just gonna go to Calistas house." Aria's eyes were wide with hope.
Of course her mother couldn't say no to her.
"Be home before midnight. Have fun, love you." Her mom had a gentle smile plastered on her face as she picked the book back up and continued reading.
Aria raced out of the house to meet her friends outside.
"Aria I thought you were going to dinner with Ethan?" Kira asked, nudging her with her shoulder.
"I'm not into him like that guys." She plainly replied, her cheeks warming up as she made eye contact with her English teacher inside a coffee shop.
"Guys that's Miss. O'Connell. What is she doing here?" Calista held the door open for her friend group and walked in behind them.
"Aria who's making you blush? I never seen you get all... giddy like that." Melody teased making Aria's face more red than it was.
"It's nothing guys. I'm starving." Aria said while walking up to the counter.
After ordering they grabbed a table and were chatting about normal teenage girl things. Boys, school, tournaments and people they despise.
"Kira has a swim meet Tuesday, Lista has a basketball game Friday and melody has a choir competition Monday. Kk everything's in the calendar." Aria brightly smiled.
"What about soccer tryouts? Aren't you going to go?" Melody asked, knowing aria loved soccer.
"I don't know. There's so many better people that could try out." Aria scratched the back of her neck and everyone booed.
"You're the best soccer player I've ever seen Aria. Cmon don't be stubborn about it."

   *One day later*

Aria walked into the empty classroom hoping to have Miss. O'Connell look over her essay and to her surprise Miss. O'Connell wasn't busy at all.
"Aria, what's up?" She said with a welcoming smile.
"I was just wondering if you could look over this essay before I turn it in later."
After a few quiet moments Miss. O'Connell looked up with a gentle smile, her eyes glistening in the bright white lights.
"You are an amazing writer aria, I'll give you that." The elder woman smiled, handing the young brunette her paper.
"Thank you Miss. O'Connell. I appreciate it."
Aria returned the gentle smile and walked out of the classroom, bumping into Ethan in the hall.
"You ditched me." He glared at her, holding onto her arm.
"Yeah. About that... I wasn't able to leave, I got stuck with my brother and my parents went out." She scratched her head with her free hand and tried to walk away but he pulled her back, making her stumble.
"Come to my party if you're sorry. I don't want your little friends there either." He said, letting go of her arm roughly making her lose her footing once again.
She looked behind her and saw Miss. O'Connell standing there watching everything.
     She must've scared Ethan away.
"Are you okay? Do you need me to report that?"
"No. I have to go" aria tightened her grip on her backpack and walked away.
