Not me forgetting I was writing this thing and abandoning it for like a month🤪

Anyway I legit forgot I was writing this and I had a moment last night where I was like "oh shit, my fanfiction" and now we're here.

🎶I need to get a life🎶

Kai listened quietly as Lloyd ranted on about this that and the other thing. He'll admit, he wasn't really following what the younger boy was saying, but he enjoyed seeing him so carefree and happy.

He couldn't care less about the other two though. They just got on his nerves.

What with Harumi's constant jabs at Lloyd, and Morro's insistent flirting, Kai was starting to get rather pissed.

Kai hadn't actually had to deal with Morro very much during the whole... Possession thing. He had moments, of course, but strictly speaking he didn't actually interact with the ghost very much.

But if he had and was treated even close to the way he was being treated now, he swears on his hair spikes, he'd find a way to kill Morro a second time.

Morro did not seem to pick up on this fact.

He had learned through Lloyd's ranting that Harumi was apparently his sister, which was weird for Kai, given that in his world they had briefly had a thing. Or at the very least, Lloyd had a thing for her.

But moving past that, Morro was also apparently Lloyd's cousin, which was also weird, given that Morro had possessed and attempted to kill Lloyd.

Not that any of them needed to know that.

Eventually, Kai stood up and stretched. He had been sitting for who knows how long, and was getting a little restless.

"Do you mind if we go walk around for a while? You can keep talking, I simply need to move around a bit," He asked Lloyd, trying his best to sound regal.

"Oh, yes, that's perfectly fine." Lloyd nodded and stood up himself.

Kai turned to Nya.

"You don't mind keeping our other guests company while I'm gone, do you?"

Nya looked at him, then looked at the two s̶c̶u̶m̶ p̶i̶e̶c̶e̶s̶ o̶f̶ s̶h̶i̶t̶ other people in the room, then looked back at him.

"I don't mind."

"Thank you," Kai said with a smile.

Kai and Lloyd walk out into the halls and Kai exhales in relief.

Lloyd looks up at him.

"You don't like my cousin."

It was said more like a statement than anything else.

"No, not really," Kai sighs.

"I don't blame you. He is a pain. I hate him too. He likes you though. I think. Or maybe he just wants you because he can't have you. He's like that."

Kai nods along halfheartedly.

"Come on, let's go outside. All our favorite places are outside."

Lloyd took Kai by the wrist and began leading him outside.

"Our?" Kai questioned with a fond smile.

"Yes," Lloyd says with a nod.

"So we were close before?"

Lloyd nods with a smile.

"Yes. You and Nya are more like my family than Morro or Harumi ever have been."
