Jenna POV:
I feel sun on my face.
Why do I feel sun on my face? Why are my curtains not closed? Oh yeah... I don't have curtains yet.
I open my eyes slowly, squinting as the Los Angeles sun is pouring in my windows and onto my face.
"I need curtains." I groan quietly.
I push the covers off of me. Thankfully, Cheyenne drove me to Target this weekend to get some bedding so at least I have that for now.
I grab my phone off my nightstand and pull it off the charger, realizing as I read my lock screen that it's six thirty in the morning and I have practice at eight.
"Love when I get to sleep in." I mumble sarcastically. I was wanting to sleep until my alarm went off at seven fifteen, but that's fine.
I slowly trudge out of my bed and make my way over to my closet to throw on a sweatshirt and sweatpants so that I can go in the kitchen and make a quick breakfast.
I head out of my room and down the hallway to the kitchen and living room when I spot Jade already on the couch.
"Good morning!" Jade says happily as she eats a bowl of cereal.
"What time do you wake up?" I groan.
"I woke up at five!" She smiles.
"I can't even function at this hour." I say sleepily.
I make my way to the kitchen and start making the breakfast I have had every morning for the last 10 years, a bagel.
Sometimes I go fancy and make a sandwich, but today we are rocking with cream cheese.
Once I'm done making my bagel, I head over to the couch to sit next to Jade. We sit in a comfortable silence until she speaks up.
"Are you excited for your very first UCLA practice today?" She asks.
"I'm really fucking nervous." I admit.
My brashness make Jade choke on her cereal as she laughs at me.
"Girl! Don't be nervous, you're such a good player you should be ready to show us some buckets." She shoved me playfully.
"I just hate being the new person, I guess." I say.
"I get that. But, all of the girls on the team are so cool and really friendly. You'll fit right in." She says.
"Thanks, Jade." I smile.
We turn our attention to the show she's watching on Netflix and finish our respective breakfasts until we realize we need to start getting ready for practice.
"I gotta go wake Cheyenne up, wanna go?" Jade asks me as we put our plates away.
"Go with you, what do you mean?" I chuckle.
"She's a heavy sleeper, so ever since we've lived together I wake her up by jumping on her bed. It's fun, you should do it with me." She enlightens me.
"I mean.... Okay what the hell, why not!" I shrug my shoulder and we head to her bedroom.
Once we get in her curtains are drawn and she's in a fetal position under her blanket.
Jade motions for me to get on the bed with her.
She counts to three before she says
"Jump!"
We start jumping all over the bed and Jade starts yelling "Wake up sunshine!" Over and over again until I'm doubled over in laughter at this ridiculous activity and Cheyenne is yelling.
"Get off of me, I'm not ready to get up!" She screams.
We finally fall on to the bed, out of breath as the three of us are laughing uncontrollably. Something about sitting here already feels so normal and it fills me with a little hope that I made the right decision.
Leaving Cheyenne to get up, we go to our own rooms to get ready.
We are dressed and ready within ten minutes and are on our way to the training gym.
