Jenna's POV:

My apartment is currently swarmed with a bunch of six foot tall girls running around like children.

It's scary movie night, and Jade and Cheyenne, and I decided to host again seeing as the last one was a little tense. I invited Malia too since she's friends with everyone now. She's basically on the team. Our living room is unrecognizable with pillows, blankets, and snacks scattered everywhere.

I make my way to the kitchen, grabbing another bowl of popcorn to place on the coffee table. As I walk back to the living room, I take in the scene.

Malia and Reese are sprawled on one side of the couch, Carly and Jade are on the floor surrounded by pillows, Bianca and Xolani are making a tik tok on the floor, Carmen and Janae are also laid out on the floor, and Cheyenne is setting up the movie on the TV. Alexis is lounging on the other side of the couch, a blanket draped over her.

I glance at the armchair in the corner, where I was planning to sit. I see Kari and Reagan are already settled in the chair, scrolling through Reagan's phone.

The only available space is next to Alexis. I hesitate for a moment, then make my way over to her.

"Is this seat taken?" I ask, trying to sound casual.

"Nope, all yours," Alexis says with a half smile, moving over a bit to give me more room.

I sit down, feeling a bit awkward. I'm wearing shorts and a tank top, and the room feels chillier than I expected.

"Want to share my blanket?" Alexis offers, holding up the edge of the soft fleece.

I glance at her, surprised by the offer. "Oh, sure. Thanks."

She moves closer to me and drapes the blanket over my legs, and I feel a rush of warmth, both from the blanket and from the unexpected closeness. As the movie starts, I try to focus on the screen, but my attention keeps drifting to Alexis beside me. The scent of her shampoo, the warmth of her body radiating through the blanket—we're closer than we've been in a few weeks, and it's both comforting and unnerving.

The opening credits roll, and I immediately regret agreeing to watch a scary movie. I still hate scary movies. They make me jumpy and anxious, and I end up hiding my face more often than not.

The first jump scare happens, and I jolt, my heart racing. "I hate scary movies." I grumble, covering my face with my hands.

Alexis chuckles softly beside me. "I know," she says, her voice low.

I scowl at her finding my fear funny. The movie progresses, and the scary shit keeps happening. This weird ghost looking things pops out from behind a dark corner, and I nearly piss myself, as I jump what feels like five feet in the air. Alexis shifts slightly and slides her hand onto my thigh under the blanket. Her touch lighting me on fire.

"Sit still, Jenna." she whispers, her hand running up and down my thigh, getting higher with each pass.

The unexpected contact sends a shock through my core, and I instantly feel the effect on me she has as my underwear dampen. I glance at Alexis, her face illuminated by the flickering light of the TV. She meets my gaze and gives me a small smirk.

Another scary scene unfolds, and I jump again, instinctively leaning closer to Alexis. She doesn't pull away; instead, she tightens her grip on my thigh, pressing her warm fingers into my skin.

"You're good, Iverson." she murmurs.

I bite my lip, afraid that I might let a noise slip out of I don't.

"Friends don't do that." I lean up to whisper in her ear.

"Sure they do." She looks down at me with a challenging expression.
