Work Song - Hozier|
The moment his breathing slowed and he finally appeared asleep, Aurora slowly retreated her arms from where they had been wrapped around his form. It was strange, holding him like that. It felt so natural, so soothing, that she found herself wanting to do it more often.
She took a moment to stare down at his sleeping form, running her fingers through his loose hair once more. She was beginning to realise that she may have underestimated her affections towards him.
Aurora lay herself beside Aemond, watching him rest for several more moments. It warmed her heart seeing him so peaceful, to see the usual tense frown and furrowed brow no longer upon his features. He looked so much younger like this, so much more unburdened.
She could feel herself beginning to grow tired, her body heavy with exhaustion as her eyes began to flutter shut.

Aemond's eye flickered open as he awakened, instantly registering the weight of his wife's form pressed against him. He blinked groggily for a few seconds, adjusting to the bright sunlight pouring in through the windows before his eye widened slightly in realization.
He was holding her. He had spent the night holding her, their bodies entwined with one another. His arms were wrapped around her waist and her head was buried in his chest.
Aemond stared down at her sleeping form for a few moments, his heart fluttering as he took in the sight of her. She looked so peaceful, so content, and so beautiful. He reached forward, gently tucking a loose strand of her wild auburn curls behind her ear.
He was falling in love. He could feel it. Whatever love felt like he knew it was gripping his heart, the feeling foreign to him. All the more reason that he should pull away from her now, yet he found himself unable to do so.
As her golden lashes fluttered open and her doe eyes met his across the pillow, Aemond found himself completely enraptured by her. There was no doubt in his mind now that he was beginning to love this woman, that he craved her presence and her touch with every fiber of his being.
He wanted to deny it, he wanted to pretend that it was just lust, that it was just desire. But it was so much more than that now, he couldn't help but acknowledge the truth.
"Good morning wife..." he whispered softly, his hand continuing to stroke over her hair in an almost tender manner. He wanted to keep her there, he wanted to keep her in his bed and in his arms all day. He had little interest in returning to the outside world where he would have to put up his usual icy facade.
His wife was making him soft already.
As he watched her blink up at him sleepily, a small yawn escaping her soft lips, Aemond had to physically restrain himself from kissing her once again. What a picture she was, staring up at him with her hair all tangled and disheveled.
He wanted to kiss her, oh he wanted to kiss her.
Aemond couldn't help but feel a small spike of contentment as she nestled her face against his chest, her breath leaving her lips in soft, warm puffs.
"Good morning." She hummed in response, her delicate fingers finding his, intertwining them.
"Did you sleep well?" He asked her quietly, gently squeezing her fingers as he spoke.
This woman completely had his heart wrapped in her slender, pretty fingers.
Aurora hummed quietly in response, her voice slightly muffled as her cheek was still pressed against his chest. "Very..." She muttered quietly, gently tracing her fingers along the back of his hand.
