"Rock! Paper! Scissors!"

As they revealed the cards you were in shock

Mary lost

"Thank you Mary for the fun game! If you would be so kind to pay up" the girl told Mary with a freakish smile

"I-I don't have it" Mary told her in shock from the event that just took place

Everyone was murmuring and pointing at this point and you couldn't do anything but pity the blonde

"What goes around, comes around" you thought to yourself

"I suppose I'll give you time to make the money since I had so much fun!" the girl proposed

Mary had a dejected look while the girl had a crazy look in her eye

Before you knew it the girl stood up and left leaving Mary in the classroom surrounded by all the students still snickering and talking about Mary's huge loss. Everyone started to slowly leave but you stayed there and waited for the girl to be alone so you could comfort her

As the last students left you approached the blonde

"What the hell do you want. Are you here to make fun of me for cheating?" She asked you with an emotionless tone

"Mary I would offer to help you pay off the debt but I don't come from a wealthy family. I don't have even a third of that kind of money" you told her as you took the seat across from her "I told you Mary I'm a good person, I don't have the heart to be cruel to people"

"Why the hell would I want your help?" she snickered "I don't know you. You're nothing to me" she told you as she stood up and grabbed her stuff

"I'm sorry Mary. If you ever need me I'll be around" you told her as you too got up and left

You called Bruce to tell him you were ready to go and as he arrived you told him what happened in the gamble

"Oh my y/n, that sounds terrifying for the young girl. She must be scared and alone" he told you as he drove you home

"Yeah" you responded as you looked out the window

"I think she'll come around sooner or later. You're a very kind person, I don't think anyone could resist being your friend" he told you

"Thank you Bruce but I'm not sure if she will" you told him

"Y/n, I'm positive she will" he reassured you

As you got ready for bed all you could think about was how Mary looked so emotionless after her loss and  you felt pure pity for the girl "I feel bad for her but at the same time I guess she deserved it"

*beep beep beep*

"Ahhhh" you yawned and stretched as you got out of bed

It was cloudy out and looked like a perfect day to stay home and do nothing but relax and watch movies

"Ugh if only I didn't have to go to school" you thought as you looked out the window at the dark clouds "well I can't control the weather so I might as well just get it over with"

As you got to school it started to lightly rain and everyone around you started pulling out an umbrella. Luckily for you Bruce had brought one just in case

"Here you go y/n" he said as he handed you the umbrella and you got out of the car

"Thank you Bruce have a nice day" you told him as he drove off

You walked into the building like any other day but stopped at a different classroom because you noticed how crowded it was

"What's going on in there? Is there a big gamble? Or some sort of fight?" You thought trying to see the commotion

As you looked inside the classroom you noticed Mary was standing in front of her desk that was trashed with a house pet tag on it. While everyone was laughing and calling her names you tried to push your way through. Before you could make your way through the girl that beat Mary got to her before you

"Mary are you alright? are you being bu-" was what she got out before getting interrupted by Mary

"Shut up. I'm like this because of you!" Mary shouted at her holding up her house pet tag that read mittens 

"Why don't you put your tag on Mary!" "You don't want to add more onto your debt!" The whole class started to chant "mittens! mittens! mittens!"

Mary glared at the girl as she put on the necklace

While Mary did that you went to grab a rag to clean off her desk and by the time you got back almost everyone had left

"Excuse me Mary" you told her as you started wiping the table

"What do you want with me, can't you just leave me alone?" She told you as she snatched the rag from your hands "you're always around when something happens what are you a stalker?" She asked you

"No I'm just trying to help-" you explained

"I already told you I don't need your help! I can do this alone" she told you annoyed

"I'm not gonna sit around and watch you struggle alone" you told her as you took the rag back from her hands "I'm always gonna be here for you even if it means I annoy you"
