"Hello?" Sally opened the door to see two unknown people, "do I know you?"

"Hello." Laurie said now with blond hair.

"Oh my, come in." Sally gestured in. "What has happened and who is this precious thing?" Looking at the baby.

"This is Aspen." Smiled Dan.

"Did you two?" Began Sally.

"Adopted, a good friend of ours passed away in childbirth." Laurie explained

"I'm so sorry." Sally began as she held the baby.

The mother and daughter talked for awhile and when the time came for them to leave Laurie bid her mother a heartfelt goodbye.

Later...

After spending a heartfelt moment at Walter's grave, Laurie and Dan felt a pang of nostalgia as they recalled their past adventures with him. They exchanged a few words about their memories, sharing smiles and tears as they reminisced about the times they had spent together.

As they walked away from the cemetery, Laurie and Dan knew they had to leave quickly to avoid drawing any attention. They didn't want anyone to connect them to Aspen or to uncover their true identities.

"We should go," Laurie whispered, glancing back at Walter's grave one last time.

Dan nodded in agreement. "Let's head to the gravesite."

They made their way to the cemetery where Aspen's biological parents were buried. Standing in front of the graves, Laurie and Dan held Aspen close, feeling a sense of reverence for the couple who had brought her into the world.

"We promise to take care of Aspen," Laurie said softly, her voice choked with emotion. "She'll know about the wonderful people her parents were."

Dan placed a hand on Laurie's shoulder, offering silent support. "We'll make sure she grows up knowing she's loved."

With a final moment of reflection, Laurie and Dan said a silent prayer for Aspen's parents, thanking them for bringing such a precious gift into their lives. Then, hand in hand, they left the cemetery, determined to give Aspen the best life possible.
