It was getting colder, I switched on the TV. Wasn't much on. Rorschach was out god knows where. I took it upon myself to keep out of the way. I saw on the TV though, Dr. Manhattan left earth to only he knows where. The news was all over it. Now I was afraid of Nuclear War.

The sudden noise of sirens rang in the distance. I woke up from my trance. I walked to the window and raised it up. The sudden cold air hitting my face. That didn't last long until I saw a police car speed off.

"Finally." I smirked to myself. I grabbed my uniform and gear and slid down the ladder. I opened the nearby garage and saw Nottingham warm and snuggled up in the ground. I woke him up gently and put his saddle on his back. I mounted him and we rode off not too far from the police car. We followed them to an old laboratory. I made my way to the back of the laboratory. I shot an arrow to the roof and climbed my way up. I could see in a latch door three men. Bikers or gangsters carelessly throwing unstable chemicals in their bags.

"Hurry up the police are outside." One of them hissed.

"Will you shut up, if we don't get these for the boss he'll hang us." The other snapped.

I opened the door slightly, and quietly lowered myself to the nearest railing. I had my bow and arrow aimed ready for anything but I turned around to a sudden noise behind me. I had little time to react I saw one of the things arms raised then nothing. Strong pain around my face.

I could feel strong blood gushing from my face. I managed to punch back at the thug and hear him falling.

"Blow this place! We got one of those costumed freaks!" I could hear loud noises bangs and shots. Smoke filled my lungs and I could hear silence from another voice. Someone sounded familiar. I tried to call out but the railing was beginning to fall.

From all the pain, I managed to stay calm and aimed my arrow to where I could feel the cold air. I climbed out and fell to the ground. I was in so much pain I landed on I believe trash cans. I could hear Nottingham panicking. I croaked that everything would be okay, even though I couldn't see. The pain in my face was hurting so badly. I bleed uncontrollably. I stood up but fell back to the ground coughing nonstop. I felt Nottingham whining and pushing me with his nose. I grabbed on to his body and managed to push myself on his back.

"Home." I groaned. I was dizzy and stayed up strong enough to make it to where I needed to go.

I could hear sirens, shouting, and the smell of smoke was intoxicating. It wasn't long before I fell off Nottingham on hard pavement. He whines louder and I could barely comprehend what happened.

I could hear the grim voice of a familiar figure, "Erin!" He sounded generally concerned.

I lost too much blood, my body just shut down.
