Lydia laid in bed, staring at the white ceiling as she pondered on everything. Just a year ago, Lydia thought her life wouldn't ever completely be joyful. She thought that the only joy she would receive would be through Melony. Now, it's different. Joy is not only just brought by her sweet daughter anymore, but it's also brought by a sarcastic dorky man who she didn't ever expect to see again. And she just couldn't fight the flutter she feels her stomach do when she sees him, or the flips her heart does when her eyes meet his amazingly loving brown eyes. She can't help but feel the connection they shared so many years ago. She just couldn't help herself from falling in love. Just when that thought crosses her mind she gasps, sitting up. She finally admitted it to herself, she was falling for Stiles. Lydia quickly got up and walked downstairs, out to the front porch, wrapping herself in her silky pink robe.

"Lydia?" A sleepy voice rang out from behind her, startling the strawberry blonde and made her jump.

"Allison," Lydia let out in a sigh of relief as she turned around and saw the messy haired brunette standing in the doorway. "you scared me." Lydia laughed softly.

"Sorry, I couldn't sleep so I came down here." Allison said as she closed the door slowly. "What up?" Allison asked as she sat down on the steps, patting the little area next to her. Lydia looked around before shrugging and sitting down beside her best friend.

"I'm scared." Lydia said as she looked out onto the road. "I'm scared I'm becoming happy." Lydia said truthfully, eyes still on the road.

"Who's scared of being happy?" Allison basically laughed out, confused beyond belief.

"I am." Lydia said plainly, looking up at the moon, which seemed to make her eyes shine brighter, or maybe it was the glaze of no emotion that covered her eyes. "The last time I felt pure happiness I ended up devastated. My heart was shredded and jumped on and then brutally stabbed. I have a wounded heart." Lydia said as she looked away from the moon and down into Allison's eyes. "I don't know if I could handle another wound." Lydia whispered out with so much truth in her eyes and voice that Allison was in a trance. But just as quickly, Allison grabbed Lydia's hand.

"You don't need to be scared of Stiles wounding your heart, he would die before he did any damage to you." Allison said, all joking aside. Lydia looked at her best friend and didn't even have to ask how she knew because she was almost positive everyone knew by now.

"That's the thing, I'm not so sure. I mean who's to say he won't go running back to wherever he came from and leave me here to heal another gash in my heart," Lydia let out as she stood up and walked down a little of the driveway. "Who's to say he won't go back to Malia if she comes back and realizes the mistake she made." Lydia says louder. "Who promises me that he won't leave again because things get too hard." Lydia said as she turned back around and ran her fingers through her hair. She then walked back towards Allison and sat down next to her again, facing her. "I have a daughter now, and I need someone who won't run away."

"He won't. Lydia if you saw the way he looks at you, you would know that it absolutely crushes him when he disappoints you. You would see the way his eyes light up when you walk in or how much more genuine his smile is. You see for yourself that he loves Melony, and Melony loves him. Just let him in and I promise you, you'll have everything you once had again." Allison responded, her lips forming a small smile of reassurance. Just then the door opened and Scott walked out, rubbing his eyes. Both girls whipped their heads back and Scott was suddenly wide eyed.

"Bad timing," Scott said with an embarrassed look.

"No, I just heading back in." Lydia said quickly. Allison opened her mouth as if to protest as she stood up as well, but Lydia quickly scrambled back in the house. Allison gave Scott a deadly glare as the door shut.

"I'm sorry," was all Scott exclaimed as he held his hands up. Allison rolled her eyes and took a step towards him and Scott scrunched his face and held his eyes tight. He then felt her warm smooth lips on his cheek and he opened his eyes slowly, surprised. Allison stood there, her dimple showing clearly as her smile was big and Scott admired her as the moonlight shines on her.

"It's okay," Allison spoke softly as she leaned into Scott. "She'll be fine."

I've been having a writers block lately. That's why my last few chapters have been blah, but I've been brainstorming lately so hopefully things will be better. Thank you for reading!
