Lydia woke up to a cold empty bed, just like its been for the last couple years. She didn't understand why it still saddened her, but she swear everyday it breaks her heart even more. Melony walked in, already ready. She was wearing a black dress with black sandals, her hair in a bun with a bow. Lydia gave a weak smile.

"Good morning honey," she said. Melony gave her mother a weak smile and pointed to the opened closet where she saw her clothes hanging. "Thank you baby." Lydia said. Melony just nodded and walked out the room. It has always worried Lydia that Melony never liked to talk, she was always quite so whenever she did talk, it caught everyone by surprise. But every time Lydia would try to get her to talk, she would cry. So Lydia gave up. The only person who she ever talked to was Aiden...and Jackson. Oh Jackson, Lydia thought to herself. Lydia then pulled herself out of bed, and changed and got ready for the hardest day of the year she has faced every year for the past two years. She came out in a black dress with black sandals, her hair in a high ponytail.

As Lydia walked down the stairs, she smelled pancakes and fresh fruit, and with just those smells Lydia's heart tightened. She looked in the kitchen, Scott and Allison running around the kitchen, setting plates and attending the food. Damon sitting with Melony, making faces, trying to get her to laugh Lydia assumed.

"What is all this?" Lydia questioned, making everyone stop and look at her. Melony pushed back her chair and made her way to Lydia and just stood next to her.

"I thought you would want a nice breakfast," Allison shrugged. Scott came up beside Allison and took her hand.

"We know it's a hard day for you. We just want to make it easier." Scott said. Lydia chuckled. They thought making breakfast would ease her pain, how amusing. "We wanted to take Melony to the park with Damon, to get her mind off of things." Scott began but Lydia instantly shook her head.

"Today is a day of grieving for us." Lydia said as she pulled Melony closer. "She can't be having fun." She said sternly, her eyes started to burn with tears. Melony looked up at her mother, her mother who had done her best to raise her and hugged her. Lydia closed her eyes and tightened her lips and just nodded her head. She didn't want Melony to forget about what had happened, but she also didn't want her to see herself drown herself in sorrow. "Okay, thank you," was all she said. Scott picked up Damon and set him down in his chair and then sat down himself.

"After breakfast we'll give you the space you need." Scott said as Allison sat down next to him. Lydia gave a weak smile and sat down, Melony following. They ate in silence. No one wanting break the tension. Finally, Damon, after patiently waiting for everyone to finish, started to fuss. He wanted to get down and he wanted to leave. So Scott and Allison put everything away and took the kids hands, walking towards the door.

"If you need us, we'll be a call away." Allison said, grabbing Lydia's hand and giving it a squeeze. Again, a weak smile. Scott came up next and gave her a hug.

"We're here for you, just say the word and anything you want is done." Scott whispered into her ear. And he walked off, leaving the house in silence, leaving Lydia alone.
