early the next morning.Quietly entering the house, I locked the door and kicked off my shoes before ascending the stairs. My sister and I are all we have now; some might call me an overprotective older brother, and in some cases, I am. I simply want the best for my sister.
After tossing my car keys onto the kitchen island, I washed my hands at the sink and opened the refrigerator. Inside were two boxes of food. "Damn, hungry ass." I chuckled, pulling out the chicken alfredo pasta and garlic knots. I peeked into the other box, finding some left-over wings. Closing the refrigerator, I heated up some pasta before heading upstairs to check on her.
Clenching my hand into a fist, I knocked and then gripped the doorknob. As I turned it and stepped inside, I found Chey already awake.
"Good morning," I said. She glanced up from her phone, a weary smile spreading across her face as she stretched, yawned, and adjusted her t-shirt.
"Good morning, how was work?" she asked, rubbing her eyes and reaching for her phone beside her. I sat at the foot of her bed, feeling my phone vibrate in my pocket. Recalling that I was texting Angel, I knew she was the only one trying to reach me at that moment.
"Work was as usual, I see you've used the cash I gave you, considering all the leftover food. Did you have your friends over here?" I inquired, referring to her friends Amire and Elise. She furrowed her brows slightly before she threw back the covers from her body, swinging her legs off the bed, she stood up to stretch, still clutching her phone tightly in her hand.
"Uh... Yeah, they came by just after the food arrived. You can have the leftovers; you know my feelings about them," she said with a chuckle. As I unlocked my phone, a message from Angel appeared, bringing a smirk to my face. Meanwhile, Chey made her way to the bathroom and shut the door. Shortly after, the sound of the shower running filled the air, so I decided to take a shower in my room as well, before changing into something comfortable.
I needed some sleep.
——-After exiting the bathroom, I grabbed my Cocoa Mango body butter and threw it onto my bed, along with my deodorant, a thong, and a grey V-neck romper. Sitting down to moisturize, my hand brushed against the side of the mattress, reminding me of Mateo, who had slept there before he left around two this morning.
