Omniscient. one week later.

Cheyenne and Angel had been by Elijah's side for the past week, the two of them had learned how to change his bandages with the nurses help, so that when he was released in a few more days they'd know exactly what to do.

Close friends came and went, bringing flowers, candy, and get well soon cards, but the only person that hadn't come back to visit was Mateo, for some reason he suddenly became distant and no-one knew why.

"You talked to Mateo?" Elijah questioned covering his mouth with his left hand as he yawned, his gazes averting between both Angel and Cheyenne. His next round of pain medications taking its course throughout his blood stream soon causing him to become sleepy.

"No," Cheyenne sighed pulling her hair into a bun. " I guess he's at work again.." She muttered looking over at Angel who adjusted her glasses upon her nose. "I'm not sure why he's being distant all of a sudden, he was here when Angel called me, then he just took off when-"

"You know what, don't even worry about it Chey." Elijah muttered, thick tension now hanging heavily between the two of them.

"Hey, you wanna walk with me to the café? I'd rather not go alone." Angel spoke giving her a friendly smile as Cheyenne nodded, twisting her lips to the side she looked over at Elijah who motioned for her to go ahead.

"Go with her Chey, go get somethin' to eat." He said as Cheyenne stood, grabbing her wallet from her bag she followed Angel out of the room before stopping and turning around.

"Did you need anything?" She questioned wanting to make sure her brother ate enough.

"Nah, if I do, I'll ask the nurse. That's their job not yours." He said leaning back against the pillows watching the two of them leave out of the room. It bothered him that Mateo hadn't been back to see him, he was awake now, alert and wondered where he was.

Stepping into the elevator Angel and Cheyenne both stood in an awkward moment, wanting to speak but were both unsure of what to say.

"Slow ass elevator." They said in unison before chuckling a little, once their laughter died down it became silent again.

"I need to say something." Angel spoke, rubbing her arms nervously.

"Say it, you can talk." Cheyenne said as Angel pressed the lobby button as the elevator doors finally shut, she then tucked a loose curl behind her ear and sighed, her brown eyes glanced over at Cheyenne before speaking.

"Okay so, I know you and I haven't been the closest since Elijah and I have been on and off, and on again... I've said and done things that haven't been the nicest toward you. I've been wanting to apologize for a while but I just didn't know how to say what I needed to without you and I getting into it." Angel said looking over at Cheyenne who was now staring down at her shoes as the elevator stopped at the lobby and the metal doors slid open, the two stepped out of the elevator and walked side by side through the lobby, once they arrived at the café they grabbed a spot in line looking over the menu.

Cheyenne folded her arms across her chest, letting out a breath as she debating between a chicken sandwich or a hamburger and fries for her meal, she sighed once more glancing at over at Angel's side profile for a moment.

"Honestly, now really isn't the time to discuss this.." She said lowly as Angel pulled her lips into her mouth.

Cheyenne's thoughts drifted to Mateo, her fingers itching to dial his number, hoping he'd finally pick up. She sighed, making a mental note to try calling him later. She also planned to swing by her home to change into her favorite worn-out jeans and a soft t-shirt before heading back to the hospital. She wanted to be there before visiting hours ended.
