JUDE POV

I'm usually a very heavy sleeper due to how exhausted I am after practice. But last night I kept waking up after every single notification my phone received. I'm not sure if I'm jumpy because there's a whole other person in the house or if I'm getting insomnia..

8:31 A.M.

I rolled over onto my side, reaching to grab my phone from the nightstand. There had been numerous messages from the group chat.

I shut off my phone, draping an arm over my face. I laid there for a few moments in silence until I got a whiff of bacon and pancakes. Mum never makes pancakes..

I'd sit up and lazily threw my legs off the bed. I walked over to my door, glancing at the shirt hung over my chair. "Eh.. I'll put one on later." I left my room.

"Mum?" I called out as I made my way down the stairs. I'd hear the noise of sizzling. The smell of bacon was getting stronger. "Mum, I told you that you didn't need to make me breakfast-" I walked into the kitchen, completely stopping in my tracks.

My mum was sitting down at the island while Eleanor was cooking. "Jude?" Mum looked over. I slowly walked over to her. I'd kiss her temple, hugging her. "Morning." I gave her a slight squeeze. "Why aren't you wearing a shirt?" She raised a brow at me.

"I forgot." I'd retract from her and glanced back at Eleanor. Her back was turned to me. I could tell she was very.. focused. "Are you not going to greet your girlfriend?" Mum cleared her throat.

"Oh, Mrs. Bellingham, I really don't mind-" Eleanor turned around, shaking her head. "What did I say about calling me that? It's Denise, dear." She interrupted. "Now, what are you waiting for? I thought I raised you better." Mum looked over at me, gesturing toward Eleanor.

My tongue poked the inside of my cheek. I walked around the island counter and awkwardly wrapped my arm around her waist. "Hey." I mumbled, looking down at her. "How did you sleep?" She put the bacon onto a plate and turned off the burner. "Fine." I glanced over to my mum.
