Different Life

Chapter Six

It's been three months since graduation, I had watched my sister be rewarded with valedictorian. I also had to see my father and mother there, I had learned that he did end up taking her back. I wasn't happy with it, so I told them I would be no longer keeping contact with them. Jessica also moved in with Angela, who I learned is her girlfriend, and they will be going to the same college. I was happy for them, really happy for them. I had become friends with a girl who joined late, we all did, her name is Bella. She is Edward's mate, but they were waiting to change her, as they were also doing with me. I was supposed to be turned after their wedding, which was a couple of weeks ago. 

Bella came back, she was sick and was pregnant with something we didn't know was possible. It sent a frenzy in the wolf pack, Jacob, one of Bella's best friends was furious, he had been since Edward and Bella were dating. You would think the men in this town would get a hint, but I guess I was wrong. Bella wanted to keep a baby, and I knew for a fact that it took a lot of convincing from Edward because the child was killing her from the inside out. Rosalie and I stood by Bella's decision, I knew why Rosalie had felt that way. This is why I had frozen my eggs without her knowing, and in the future when I was turned I would pay for a surrogate, I already had someone in mind for their sperm. 

I had to do a lot of research but found one of Rosalie's siblings' son who was actually donating his sperm. I reached out and asked if he would be up for it, he agreed and Emmett helped me pay him. Now in a couple of years, I was going to have a child, but in case anything happened to me before I was able to turn, I asked Emmett to have it happen and adopt the child, then at some point tell Rosalie. He agreed, I also put it in my will as Emmett knows what to do. I knew she would probably get a little mad at me about what was happening, but I knew I needed to do it, because I loved Rosalie and I wanted kids with her and I knew she wanted kids too. I have a feeling that even if I'm not there, Rosalie will know what's going on, she will know that the baby is mine. 

But let's stop talking about the possibilities of my future because right now, I am not convinced I have one. Here I was, watching as my family was forced to stay inside while the wolves broke the treaty by not letting them off their property. They are watching them like hawks, any time they try going out of the house, they attack. This is why I left, I drove to Canada and went hunting, and now I'm on my way back with six deer and three mountain lions in the back of my truck. I was scared, of course, trying to them into the garage, who was to tell me that they wouldn't harm me. I didn't trust Jacob, nor his Alpha, they were maniacs, the only ones I had begun to trust were Leah and Seth, but he seems like he does what anyone says. They left the pack and are keeping watch on us, which I was so thankful for. They surrounded my truck as I pulled in, I went into the garage and the Cullens were by my side immediately. "I didn't shoot them with a gun, just a really strong tranq. Carlisle told me it would work for you guys, and that it shouldn't affect you. So please, drink." They took it out of my truck and started eating, I could see them get better already at it. 

It concerned me with how much it affected them, I was so concerned about Rosalie because of course I was. I walked inside and sat by Bella's side, I had become close to her, even closer than I already was. "They're feeding now, sorry I didn't get here any sooner." She shook her head and held my hands, "You did the best thing, they can eat because of you." She winced and held her stomach, she was drinking human blood which had been helping her but we were running low. I wanted to get her some, but they said if the wolves smelt it, they might try and kill me. She was on her last one, and it worried me. She was getting up as Edward was coming in, I didn't realize it but she was falling, holding her stomach. He caught her and looked at me, "He's coming!" Carlisle and Alice helped her into the room and I stayed by Rosalie's side. 

She was telling me what was happening, that they were giving her morphine and cutting her open. Alice had to leave and take Jasper all the way up to the attic. I knew he was struggling with the smells, Rosalie tensed and ran in there, coming out with the baby. "They're doing CPR," I nodded and we went and cleaned the baby, sitting on the couch while we waited. Carlisle walked in and sighed, covered in blood. "She's dying, he's giving her morphine, I can hear her changing but with the morphine, she looks dead. I think the wolves are going to think she is, so prepare yourselves." It wasn't long before Jacob broke into the house, it was so quick and I didn't waste a second before jumping on the wolf. I had a knife in my pocket, I knew it wouldn't do much, but I was going to protect Rosalie and that baby. 

The minute Jacob transformed, other wolves came in, and I jumped on his back. I grabbed my knife and stabbed him, he flipped me off his back. I kept the knife in my hand, ripping it out. Just as he bit my neck and shoulder, meaning I would only have a few minutes to live I stabbed him in the neck and sliced his throat open. I pushed his body off of me and Rosalie ran over to me, I noticed she didn't have the baby anymore. Carlisle ran to me, I looked at him and I knew I couldn't be saved. I shakily put my hand on Rosalie's cheek, I felt cold, and I knew I couldn't speak. I was numb from the pain, Rosalie started biting me, she was trying to do everything she could to save me. I loved her for that, she was doing everything because she loved me. 

I could feel my eyes closing, my breath slowly stopping. The last thing that was left was Rosalie telling me how much she loved me and that she would never forget me. Now, imagine my surprise when I wake up in a completely different bed in a completely different life.
