!!GORE WARNING!!
~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been two months since the incident with the Burns family, they had told us that they were originally here to hunt down the ghouls. They explained that they only learned about the Fairmonts because Juliette dropped a blood pill, and Calliope "dropped" her bracelet to see if it would burn her, which she had seen that it did. We had told them that they needed to leave, and if they came back after us, they would all die. They asked why I was there, they assumed I was a part of the guild, I denied it saying I didn't know who she was outside of school. They decided just to agree, though I knew they didn't really believe me. Once we let them go we also told them they wouldn't get the weapons till they were out of the area and we would ship them to them, I wasn't sure how but I knew they had their ways.
I had gotten closer to Juliette and her family, though there was something about Elinor. She was always out and it seemed she would come back with blood under her nails and someone would be missing a day later. I wanted it to be a coincidence, but I still told Juliette. She told me she had seen her sister put a key in her dresser but also seemed to have a lot of licensees in there but she thought it wasn't anything of it. I knew I needed to find out more, people had been looking for hundreds of people over the years who all went missing after going to the bar hoping, never to find their bodies or evidence of them at all. They just disappeared, and it would help since she's the DA's daughter and knew she could easily get away with it. I had talked to my parents about it, and they agreed I should look around. I went to Juliette about it once again, telling her I was going to find out what it had meant.
She agreed because she knew if her sister was murdering innocent people, it wasn't good. They didn't need to kill to survive, none of them ever did that, but it might seem like Elinor didn't get the memo. The night I learned about it all, I snuck into Elinor's room and grabbed the key. It was to a storage locker, Juliette and I drove to the one that had its name on the keys. Luckily the number was also on it, once we were in I saw boxes and looked around and found a lock box, there were a couple of them. I opened them and saw the IDs of people that had gone missing, she had a whole collection of them. I looked at Juliette and we knew we had to do something about it, but Elinor was her sister, it wasn't going to be easy. "You know she can't get away with it, tell me you know that." "I-I do, of course I do. We'll take it to the police, anonymously, they can't know it was me." I nodded and we grabbed an envelope at a store, putting it in with a note saying that the key belonged to Elinor Fairmont.
I was sitting with Juliette, waiting for anything to happen. We were just lying in bed, and then sirens and screaming happened. Her dad was screaming that they needed a warrant, they grabbed Elinor and dragged her out and her dad was holding back Margot. I wasn't sure what happened, but I knew she was doomed. She wouldn't get away with it, her dad had followed the cops to the station and now we were waiting for him to get back, to hear why she was there. They were under the impression they would be able to get her out within the hour, Juliette and I knew that was not true. Once he had finally gotten home, the sun slowly coming up we headed downstairs with her mom. Sebastian didn't have a good look on his face. "Someone sent them a key to her garage, anonymously, in the garage there were hundreds of IDs of every missing person over the years. They think she murdered them, and to be honest, I believe it." Margot scoffed and stood up, "There is no way she did that!" He looked at her, she slowly sat down.
"I thought she was being framed, but the garage is in her name and there is proof of her going in and putting more ideas in there." Margot put her head in her hands, "There's nothing I can do, Margot." "She's gonna get out, you know she is." He shook his head, "I don't think she's stupid enough," "She has that ability, we need to watch out for her, ok?" He nodded and we headed back upstairs. I wasn't sure what was going to happen. This ability they spoke of, I wasn't sure what it was, or what it was about. But I knew it was something I should be afraid of, but I wasn't. I knew I needed to see her, I wanted her to know it was me, that it was my idea. Maybe I should think it through, but I didn't care at this point.
In the morning I drove to the jail, being able to get a visitor room with her. She walked in and sat down, I could tell she was hoping it would be her father or an expert lawyer. I sat down in front of her, she just stared at me. "I know I wasn't who you were expecting," She licked her lips, "You could say that. So, why are you here?" I sighed softly, looking at her handcuffs and my eyes drifted to the guard outside the room. I knew she wouldn't hurt me, at least not yet. "I wanted to look you in the eye and tell you it was me, I put you in here with Juliette's help of course. But it was my idea, I knew what you were doing, you're a monster. Just be happy this is what happened to you, you're gonna rot in hell, Elinor." She glared at me, not daring to move from her seat. "You'll pay for this, Natalie. That's a promise," I smiled at her and stood up, the guard opened the door and I walked out.
I refused to look at her again, I continued walking until I was outside with my things. I didn't know what would happen now, but I promised myself I would always keep a watch. I continued to stay with Juliette, I had a gut feeling that something was going to happen but nothing did. Well, that was until something did happen. I was training in the living room with Juliette's help when her dad's phone rang, we stopped and looked at him. He didn't say much mumbled, and hummed. Once he hung up he looked at us, "Elinor has escaped the jail, they said the guard just let her out and she disappeared before anyone noticed." I couldn't sleep that night, every sound had me looking around. Juliette didn't think anything was going to happen to me but I knew she was going to kill me.
Maybe she wouldn't have escaped if she didn't know it was me, or if she did escape she wouldn't be chasing after me. Juliette had yet to know that I went and visited her, I didn't tell her. Over the next couple of days, bodies were being found, she was leaving them, torn to show there were no vampires. She wasn't that stupid. Juliette stayed by my side, but I didn't think Juliette would be able to fight her sister off. I would get power naps, never really able to sleep.
When it finally happened, it was least expected. She had been on the run for two weeks now and we assumed she was going to just flee the state or even the country. But instead, she came here, came to their home where she knew I was. Juliette, she tried and as much as she tried Elinor got me. She wasn't quick, her nails digging into me as she broke bones. The screams ripping out of my throat, I could tell she enjoyed them. But just before Juliette made her way to me, Elinor dug her fangs into my throat and ripped the chunk of flesh out. She dropped me, and though I died almost instantly I could see what was going on. This was new, though I had died before I assumed, wasn't so sure of that, I hadn't seen this. I watched as Juliette kneeled by my lifeless body, tears falling from her eyes as she let out a scream. She pulled me close, holding me tightly.
I felt emotional, I wanted to comfort her but I couldn't. I was stuck in place, stuck watching everything happen. I watched as her eyes swirled with emotion, the sadness being replaced with dark anger. She gently set my body down before standing quickly, she turned towards Elinor and ran to her with her speed. She slammed her down with a newfound strength, just as she was beating Elinor her parents came out of the room. I wasn't sure where they were in the house, but they saw me on the ground dead. Her mom froze, hands covering her mouth. Her dad ran to me, looking at Margot when he knew there was no saving me. I wasn't sure what they could see of me, but the shock in his eyes said he wasn't expecting what he saw.
Elinor tried fighting off Juliette, but she couldn't. "You killed her! You monster!" Juliette slammed her head into the floor before barring her fangs with a hiss, she bit down on Elinor's neck and ripped a chunk out just like she did me. Before she ripped Elinor's head off, little blood was there. Juliette stood up and looked down at her dead sister, she turned away and knelt by me again. She leaned her forehead on mine and mumbled a sorry, she pulled a necklace out of her pocket and put it on me. I felt her touch, all I wanted to do was hold her back. I felt the silver on the body where I was now, looking down it was a locket and I opened it. It had her and I in it, her wide smile as she stared at me. Before anything else could happen I woke up.
