I sat in bed, I looked at my body and around the room. I wasn't in Rosalie's bed, I didn't hear the Cullens walking around. I slowly got up and saw photos of me and people I didn't recognize, I saw my parents, but there was no Jessica, I was the only child. I checked the room and saw photos of people I could tell were friends, I thought about everything, I remembered meeting them, meeting with the guild for our new job. They wanted us to watch the Burns family since this was a large job for them. We didn't hunt vampires, we were part of the guild that if they weren't murdering or turning people they weren't threats to us. I shook my head, it must have been a dream.

Of course, I had to convince myself that, I could still remember the weight of the dead wolf against my body. I could still feel the pain, the feeling of Rosalie, it was a very real dream. I jumped in the shower, hoping to rinse it all off. Once I was done I got dressed and ran down the stairs, I knew where everything was, like it was muscle memory. I saw my mom and dad sitting at the table, eating breakfast while there was a plate waiting for me. "Hey, baby! Breakfast just got done, so eat." I smiled and sat down, eating pretty quickly. I knew I had to get to school soon, and I didn't wanna be late. Once I was done I grabbed my backpack and keys, "Remember, watch closely on the Burns girl, people will be talking about her. She's new, and so are you, but don't be too noticeable, ok?" I nodded "I know dad, I'll be fine. Keep my head down but my eyes everywhere, I got this, I already have ten kills. I'll be safe, I promise. There's a reason we are secret to everyone but the head guild." He smiled at me and I walked out, I would of course be watching out for any vampires.

It would be weird to see daywalkers, but I learned that there was a legacy family, they are the rarest vampires, and hardest to kill. But they've gone unnoticed, so they are obviously doing something right. If I remember correctly it was the Fairmonts? Something like that name, maybe I'll get to meet one, that would be pretty cool. There was a voice in the back of my head on the way to school, telling me to find Rosalie. I didn't know why the dream felt so real, as if I spent years really with a family of vampires, falling in love with one and dying for a vampire baby. Maybe Dream Me is just crazy brave, I shook my head and pulled up into the school. I parked and got out, listening to my surroundings. I learned to keep my senses heightened and to always be on the lookout even if you can't see every angle.

I walked into school and saw a few people looking at me, and others smiling at me. I wouldn't get close to anyone, there really wasn't a point in it, since I knew eventually I would be leaving. Once the Burns were done with their mission, we were done with ours. I saw Calliope sitting in the grass reading, a few guys had accidentally thrown a ball at her. It didn't make sense to me why they were hanging outside when the bell would ring any minute. I walked in and passed a short girl and her taller friend, I could tell I caught her eye. I looked behind my shoulder to see her looking at me, she smiled and I smiled back. I went to my locker and grabbed the things I needed, taking care of what I didn't. I headed to my class and noticed that I had it with the girl that smiled at me, I sat in the back and her eyes found mine once again.

Every once in a while she would look at me and I would look at her, it wasn't awkward and I didn't mind it. But it was cute seeing her get shy when she saw me looking back at her, luckily for me the class had seemed to go quickly and we left. I had art after and I noticed she went a different way, I shrugged and knew I would see her again. After a couple of classes, I walked in and saw I had it with her and her friend, I sat in the back and smiled at her. She smiled back and her friend nudged her shoulder before someone handed her a flyer. I knew I would probably receive one, maybe, no one has approached me yet.

Just as the teacher started talking Calliope Burns walked in, I saw her look at the girl, whose name I probably should know by now, but I don't. I didn't really know anyone's name, just who I was supposed to be watching. I had a feeling that I wanted to get to know her, I had noticed her before, sometimes seeing her eyes on me. I just assume it's because I'm the new girl. I had started a little before Calliope did, just so it didn't seem suspicious and the attention would leave me. No matter how many missions we went on, I always disliked the fact of how discreet we had to be.

The class went smoothly, my eyes drifting to the girl's name I had yet to find. Once the bell rang I heard her friend finally say her name, "Juliette, let's go. I don't wanna be late to gym again," I walked out and saw Calliope "drop" a bracelet, I wondered why but decided to ignore it and hide behind a wall. I watched as Juliette looked around and grabbed it, she immediately dropped it and hissed. I saw the smoke coming from her hand and something told me to run and protect her, but I waited. I saw Calliope with her phone quickly leave for class. I followed Juliette into the bathroom, peeking in. I saw her rinse her hand under water, hissing again before throwing her head back and her fangs popping out. My eyes widened when I realized she was Juliette Fairmont, a legacy vampire.

But I noticed she wasn't healing quickly, which meant she hadn't had her first kill yet. I read all about them, legacies that don't have their first kill will slowly die, it starts with headaches, lashing out, not healing, and getting sick and weak. Then they die, it worries me that she hadn't done it yet. Of course, being a hunter, I shouldn't condone killing, but it was their nature, she was born that way. No one can stop what must happen, and there's obviously a reason why she hasn't. I walked into the bathroom once she seemed fine, she looked at me with a nervous look. I went up and looked at myself through the mirror, "Juliette, right?" She nodded, a tight-lip smile on her face. "I'm Natalie, I've been meaning to introduce myself." I put my hand out, making sure she wouldn't have to use the one she just hurt.

She shook my hand and seemed to relax, "Hey, uh there's this party tonight, I don't usually go to these things, but I was wondering if maybe you wanted to? I'll obviously be there because I already said that. I just think it would be cool to see you there, maybe get to know each other better?" I laughed softly and nodded, looking down at her. She was shorter than me but not by much, "I'd like that, yeah I'll be there." She handed me the flyer, it had the address on it. I smiled widely and folded it up, she smiled at me and looked at the door. "I should probably head to class..." I nodded, "Me too, I'll see you tonight Juliette." She bit her lip and we walked out, she held the door open for me which I found adorable.
