You stepped outside the carriage, in front of your “house”. “See you next week” Erwin said, still in the carriage, and you nodded, thanking him for going with you. He closed the door and the carriage took off. You really meant your ‘thanks’ that he never left your side today. You would've looked like a complete idiot if you didn't know your own house.
Speaking of your house, you never got to look around when you came here 2 hours ago, you didn't have time. But now you do and you really do need to look around and get acquainted with your new life, or at least, your house.
You held your hand out again for little Levi. He looked tired. His nose was red and his eyes are puffy. He had just finished crying. He took your hand and you walked up the stairs.
Your actual house is on the second floor, the first floor is a coffee shop…that you owned. Well, your parents owned, but since they're dead (according to Erwin, because he had mentioned how you two can understand Levi's pain. The pain of losing your parents) it now belonged to you. You're hoping you don't have any siblings. Not only because it would compromise your claim, but it would be a pain if you had a sibling you didn't know squat about. Speaking of the coffee shop, you'd have to check it out tomorrow.
You and Levi walked in the house. For the first time, you actually looked. Where you currently stood is the living room, complete with a couch and two armchairs placed next to each other. Between the two armchairs and the couch is a rectangular wooden coffee table. On the right side of the furnitures is a small fireplace, placed between two functional double windows on each side. The windows were glass but it was wooden framed. There were some shelves here and there filled with books and some decorative items.
Behind the living room is the kitchen complete with counters and wall cabinets. There's a cooking stove. You hummed. You wished there was an oven and a fridge. You had to remind yourself this was the medieval period. Next to the kitchen counters is a round dining table for four. You liked the open-floor plan.
Between to the double window on the living room wall and the kitchen counter is a small double door that led to a balcony, which also served as a ceiling to the front porch of the coffee shop on the below.
On the other side, there were two doors facing the living area, which led to the bedrooms. Then there was one situated in the kitchen, that led to the bathroom that consisted of a sink, a toilet, and a tub. Yes, you have a tub in your house. The waterpipes are designed so it connects the faucet for the tub to the shower above it.
You walked Levi to his room. You admit, it was a bit too girly for Levi. This must've been your “old” room. You have some redecorating to do. It has a double bed, a study table with a chair, a wardrobe, and a small bookshelf. It's perfect. You told Levi to rest for a bit while you prepared dinner. You hoped you know how to cook shit in this world. Levi lied on his bed and you walked out of the room, closing the door quietly.
You walked in your room, which is bigger than Levi's. You assumed it was your “parents'” room. It had a queen-size bed, a desk set, a big wardrobe (with clothes that, surprisingly, would be your style if you lived in medieval times and they fit you to T), a dresser that also doubles as a vanity table. There's also a bookshelf at the side. There's a small door in your room that led to a small bathroom. It doesn't have a tub, so if you ever decided you wanted to soak in a bath, you'd have to use the other bathroom.
You changed out of your funeral clothes and got into some comfortable ones. You're tempted to just lie down on the comfy-looking bed after the day you had but you fought the temptation. You've got a starving kid in the other room. So you walked out of your room and into the kitchen. You yawned. God, you could go for a glass of wine right now. Maybe you do have some wine in one of these cupboards. Wait… Zeke's spinal fluid probably hasn't arrived in the island during this time, right? Whatever. You'll just avoid whatever wine they claim is rare and expensive. You searched through the cupboards and sure enough, you found some wine. You poured yourself a glass and began hunting for ingredients.
