“Here you go” Erwin says as he placed a mug in front of you, sitting down beside you. You beam at him and expressed your thanks.

“Squad leader, that's not fair, only bringing drinks to your wife” the dark haired woman, whom you've come to know by the name ‘Alma’, whined.

“C'mon, Alma, we're used to this by now” Lydia says as she swings an arm around your shoulders “Only his wife here gets special treatment from our squad leader.” She sighs dramatically and you roll your eyes at her, shaking your head before taking a sip from the mug.

You're used to their teasings by now, especially when you would sit together like this in the mess hall, eating lunch or discussing strategies and formations. That's when they really let you and Erwin have it.

And, truth be told, if you were them, you would join in on the teasing too. Erwin always does these things – bringing you lunch, saving you a seat, opening a door for you even though he's your superior, helping you set up your gear, he even helps you secure the straps on your body and he ties your boots for you. According to him, he liked knowing that it wouldn't get in your way during missions or trainings. Yeah, you get why they call you two the ‘old married couple’.

“She's my second-in-command” Erwin defends, which made the group roll their eyes and sneer.

“That ain't mean jack shit!” says Hanz. “Just because she's your second-in-command doesn't mean you gotta act like her lover” he snickered, making Erwin clear his throat.

“Anyway, I want your opinion on a formation strategy that I've been working on–” Erwin segways but gets interjected by Lydia

“Oh, really? You won't even deny acting like her lover? That's very bold of you Mr. Smith~” she purred, poking Erwin on the arm.

“Guys, that's enough. He's talking about something serious here” You warn, feeling sorry for Erwin.

“Oof and the wife defends” Alec, the usually quiet member teased.

“Yeah… you're different lately. You've changed. You're…more mature now” Alma observed. ‘I'm in my early 20's’ you wanted to shout but they'll think you're crazy.

“And you've been smelling different too since that day you went to the underground” Miche supplies as he sniffed you.

“Pfft! Does she smell like sex?” Hanz snorts, prompting you to smack him on the head. The group, save for you and Erwin, laugh, clearly enjoying getting the a rise out of the two of you. The laughter dies down when Erwin cleared his throat, his expression serious.

“Commander Shadis wants to venture outside the walls yet again. I've come up with a formation and strategy that I believe would result in lesser deaths of our comrades during the expedition.” Erwin explains.

“Yeah, but you know how the commander is, he prefers pushing through and appearing brave and hopeful instead of carefully planning it.” Alma states wearily, her face propped against her palm.

“I know” Erwin sighs before continuing “that is why I need your help to convince the commander, show him that…” you zoned out when you hear and glance at the opening door, Levi walking in. He looks so cute with his small backpack, a sight you'd never seen before in the anime nor the manga.

When Levi steps in, you see he wasn't alone. There was a boy behind him, a blonde one, and a red head with twin tails. Wait, Farlan and Isabel?! Your eyes widen and you immediately stand up, walking to them.

“I'm home” Levi announces as he puts his bag on one of the chairs, and your heart feels all warm just at him being able to say that.

“Welcome home” you chirped. “Who's with you today? You made some friends?” You ask just to make sure.
