After months of photoshoots, album premieres, and red carpets, the time had finally come for the shooting of Outer Banks. Lacy was excited but also a bit anxious as she prepared to leave for the long shoot.
"Okay, be careful. Remember to call us if you need anything at all. I don't care how small it is. And did you check everything off your list? Make sure you took everything?" her mom asked, her voice tinged with worry.
"Yes, yes, and yes. Don't worry, Mom, I'll be fine," Lacy reassured her, trying to hide her own nerves.
"I know it's just that you haven't been away from us for this long, or so far away," her mom said, her eyes glistening.
"You can come visit anytime, and I'll keep you updated. Besides, Kendall said she'd come visit next week after Milan Fashion Week, and Olivia's going to be joining us as soon as she finishes recording her new album."
"Yes, thank God for them," her mom sighed, a small smile breaking through her concern.
"See? I'll be fine," Lacy said, hugging her mom tightly before turning to her dad.
"This is your big break, I know it. And remember, if you need any guidance on how to do some scenes, or if you get nervous because of anything at all, give me a call and I'll tell you everything you need to know," her dad said, his voice steady and reassuring.
"I will, Dad, I promise," Lacy said, hugging him just as tightly.
"Bray, please come visit when you're free, and I'll FaceTime you every night to spill all the tea," Lacy said, turning to her best friend since as long as she could remember.
"I'll be there when you least expect it, and you better call me every night," Brady replied, his serious expression betraying the lightness in his words.
"I will," Lacy said, smiling as she hugged him.
"Oh, and I did some research on this 'Drew Starkey' guy," Brady said, raising an eyebrow.
"Okay, and...?" Lacy asked, smiling, already guessing what he was about to say.
"He looks alright, huh?"
"Yeah, he's fine," Lacy said, giggling.
"Yeah, he gives me bad vibes. If he bothers you in any way, you tell me, okay?"
"He's not going to bother me, but yes, I will call you if there's anything," Lacy promised.
With final hugs and reassurances, Lacy left for North Carolina for the next 2 months.
As Lacy reached North Carolina and stepped out of the airport, she felt a hot wind brush against her skin, the sun shining brightly overhead. She looked around, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings, knowing this was where she would spend the next two months. This was the most nervous she had ever been, which was odd considering she had been attending red carpets since she was born. But this was her first ever major acting role, and the nerves were quite literally nerving.
