Lacy woke up the next morning to the sunlight streaming through the windows. She felt exhausted and lay back down, glancing to her side only to find the bed empty. For a moment, she thought last night might have been a fever dream. Just then, the bathroom door opened, and Drew walked out, wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.

"Oh, it's you," she said, relief and confusion mixing in her voice.

"Yeah, it's me," Drew replied, chuckling softly.

"Sleep well last night?" Drew asked, moving to the dresser.

"Yeah, yeah. What about you?"

"I did," Drew said, as he began changing into his boxers.

"Oh, I should—" Lacy stammered, quickly looking away and trying to cover her eyes.

"Nothing you haven't seen before," Drew teased, a playful grin on his face.

"Yeah, I know, but it's just— We should talk."

"Yeah, I agree," Drew said, sitting next to Lacy on the bed.

Lacy took a deep breath, steadying herself. "So, about last night, I meant everything I said."

"Yeah, I did too," Drew replied, picking up Lacy's hand and holding it gently.

"So, what now?" Lacy asked, her voice filled with uncertainty.

"Now we just—" Drew began, leaning in slowly.

Their eyes locked, and Lacy felt her heart race. Drew closed the distance, pressing his lips softly against hers. The kiss was tender, yet filled with all the emotions they had been holding back. As they pulled apart, Drew looked into her eyes, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

"Yeah, as much as I'd like this to go on, I can taste my morning breath," Lacy said with a laugh, tying the bedsheet around her and making her way to the washroom. "I'm gonna go freshen up."

Drew chuckled and watched her disappear into the bathroom, feeling a mix of relief and happiness at the lighthearted moment.

Lacy looked at herself in the mirror and had a full blown freak out. She had just spent the night with Drew. With Drew Starkey. Her mind raced with a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. She took several deep breaths to calm herself down, finally managing to brush her teeth and get changed.

When she felt somewhat more composed, she walked into her kitchen and was greeted by the sight of Drew cooking.

"What are you doing?" she asked, a mix of amusement and surprise in her voice.

Drew turned around, flashing her a charming smile. "Making breakfast. Thought it'd be nice to start the day with something good after everything that happened."

"So, you cook, huh?" Lacy asked with a chuckle.

"Not really, but I thought it'd be a nice gesture," Drew replied, grinning.
