It had been a rough few weeks for Barbara, she was a single mum of two children and was working a lot to provide for her family. Winston was there to help his mum with the housework and with looking after his baby sister Raven, who loved her big brother very much, Barbara had tried to reach out to her best friend Helen Wolfe for help and support, but the latter had not be in touch with Barbara since Helen revealed to the police that she is the Hacker.

Winston noticed his mother sitting on the window seat in the living room, while he was carrying his sister in his arms. He sat down next to her and placed Raven on his lap, taking notice that his mother had been crying. He took her hand into his hand and spoke to her softly; "Mum, what's wrong?" She looked out of the window before responding to her son; "For what it's worth, I didn't want to raise this baby on my own. Helen isn't responding to my calls, and all I have is you."

Winston let go of his mother's hand and opened his arm; "Come here mum." He replied. Barbara moved and snuggled into her son as he comforted her, he rubbed her arms as she cried. "It will be ok mum, I promise."

A couple of days later, Barbara gets a visit from Helen, and she lets her in; "I am sorry Barbara that I have not been in touch lately, but I have been busy." Helen started as Barbara scoffed at her. "Busy doing what?" Barbara retorted as she felt angry at Helen for not being there for her as they promised the day they revealed that they were pregnant.

"Barbara, I am the hacker." Helen admitted knowing that she would get a reaction from her. However, Barbara's jaw dropped in shock at what Helen had just admitted to her, Winston had heard the confession from upstairs. "You lied to me!" Barbara had managed to respond.

"I had no other choice."

"So, that day we came to see you for the evaluation of the Killer, the messages you received from the Killer Queen, is that true?" Helen looked at Barbara, whose rage surfaced and directed at her. "IS THAT TRUE??"

Helen jumped a little; "No. I sent them messages to myself, to throw suspicion that the Killer Queen was targeting me." Helen responded. Barbara turned around clutching her head, she was at a loss, her best friend had just admitted to being the Hacker and the fact that she had lied about the Killer Queen targeting her. It was all too much for the Sergeant, but a critical issue was raised in her mind, and she removed her hands from her head.

The Sergeant sighed trying to muster up the courage to ask the question that was in the forefront of her mind, with a heavy heart and through her tears, she turned back to Helen and asked the question that she needed to hear answer too; "Do you know who the Killer Queen is?"

"No. I honestly do not know who the Killer Queen is, and if I did know then I would not be able to say anything as it would mean my own death." Helen admitted to the Sergeant. Barbara grew angrier with the brunette; "I wish it were you who was dead and not Tommy, at least he was honest and cared about me."

"You don't mean that." Helen said as Barbara looked at her. "Oh I do. You lied to me and betrayed me, Helen. I trusted you and believed in you, even when I had doubts, I chose to believe in you."

"Respect..."

"Respect is earned as it works both ways Helen. You had my respect because you had Tommy's respect and you had respect for me, but that has been blown because of what your lies and broken promises."

"I have not broken our promise to be there for you and Winston." Helen replied, trying to reason with Barbara as Winston came downstairs. "We have each other, Helen. I will always be there for my mother." He replied.

Helen was feeling very guilty for her actions, that she tried again to apologize; "I am sorry Barbara."

"Just get out!"

"Barbara..."

"I SAID GET OUT!!" Barbara raged at Helen. Winston opened the front door and Helen left the house; Barbara collapsed from it all as Winston caught her and she cried in his arms, though he is only teenager, Winston is very understanding and comforts his mother.

To be continued.
