Chapter 19: Ashes

It has been 2 weeks since the triplets, George and Martha's deaths, yet no confirmation about who the killer is.

The detective went to the office and compiled all the pieces of evidence, he took a closer look, he asked help from the cops, from the scientists, from anyone related to help in this crime and the detective confirmed that George is NOT the killer.

He called Arthur to talk about this, but after a few minutes, he didn't respond.

Arthur was laying on his bed with his wife, Mary beside him, she has already shaved her head and there is a possibility that she would die this year that is why he is staying beside her while listening to the telephone ring.

Mary spoke in a low voice, "Arthur... Take the call"

Arthur took the telephone and responded, "Who's this?"

"Sir, I am here to tell you that your son, George is not the killer, out of 4 people in the house, there is no way that George can kill 4 people that easily"

Arthur sighed, "Then explain the drawings, his letter, the gift box, and how he told us he'll kill his siblings and will hang himself later on."

"Sir" The detective cleared his throat, "What I'm trying to say that George might not be the killer but he hired the group of murderers to kill the triplets"

Arthur sat up straight, "Okay then... We have to find that group so they could tell us who ordered them to do it"

There is now the mourning day of the Shire family.

Catherine was the one holding Genevieve's jar of ash while Arthur and Mary holds Alice and Elisa's jar of ash, Alfonso carried Martha's.

White flowers surrounding them, the photos of the triplets and Martha was pasted and placed on different buildings and the others are placed on the white flowers, thousands and thousands of white flowers and gifts are placed by the citizens.

Mary was already on the wheelchair and Catherine will be the one pushing her, everyone was wearing the color black, the music that resembles their grief has begun and the family walks to the lake slowly and the cameras are following them.

The thousands of citizens expressed their condolences to the family, Martha and the triplets suffered a bitter fate, they didn't even get to visit their mother in the hospital.

Their deaths were gruesome and tragic, they didn't deserve to die like that.

Catherine couldn't even walk properly because of her tears in her eyes that was blocking her vision.

They arrived at the lake, but before they could throw the ashes, Arthur screamed at the top of his lungs and blamed himself for being a neglectful father.

He hugged the jar and he and Mary sobbed loudly, they both screamed to the world their pain and they refuse to throw the ashes away but they have to, they aren't allow to keep it.

Arthur kneeled and hugged the jars tightly, he blamed himself for leaving them there, his heart broke into pieces, and if he continued to he this frustrated, heartbroken, and stressed, he can die because of that.

The people who were watching them broke into tears for them.

Arthur begins to punch the ground as hard as he can until his fists bleed.

There was a quote saying: "A wife who loses a husband is called a widow. A husband who loses a wife is called a widower. A child who loses his parents is called an orphan. There is no word for a parent who loses a child. That's how awful the loss is."

The 3 girls had a bright future ahead of them, but someone else took it away and ended their lives full of anger and rage.

Dylan, Genevieve's boyfriend stood beside Catherine, he asked her if he could carry the jar, and as he carried the jar, he hugged it tightly and cried so hard as the plans that he and his lover made is ruined.

The other 2 lovers of Alice and Elisa touched the jars of their lovers, their plans for them were also ruined.

The parents didn't have a choice, they finally threw the ashes on the lake and Catherine threw Genevieve's ashes on the lake at the same time.
