of your peace'.

Dawud watched through his rear view mirror as sudais' sister walked to her car, she opened the door and carefully sat inside. It was a few seconds before she brought the car to life and he guessed she was settling herself in. He watched her car slowly back out of the large compound, she drove out and then he tore his gaze back to the boys' quarters where sudais was walking out from.

He decided he was going to tell his friend, he had to for many reasons.

Sudais opened the door and got into the chilly car, they exchanged pleasantries and dawud drove out of the house.

"Bro,". He called and glanced at sudais who didn't look up from his phone but he knew he had his friends' ears.

"I like your sister". He announced and that got sudais looking up and dawud felt his gaze on him. Sudais was quiet for a whole two minutes.

"Dawud, halima's still in school". Dawud glanced at him again. He didn't have a problem with him liking his sister then.

Though why would he think it was halima? Maybe because she was the only one dawud actually had a conversation with except for the guys in the house, that because the other sisters were not always at home.

"No, not halima. Rahma". Sudais rose his brow.

"You know she's in a phase right?".

"Yes, I'm just telling you so I'm the first on the list of her suitors". Sudais shook his head and went back to his phone.

"But I thought you two didn't like eachother?". Sudais teased.

"Maybe she doesn't but I do".

"So you want me to tell her?".

"If you think that'll be okay, yes". Sudais nodded thinking of the perfect attitude to tell her with. Big brother soldier attitude? Or loving big brother attitude? Though he preferred the former.

The next day, Rahma woke up early and stood in her balcony drinking tea and admiring the sun, feeling that the day was going to be great as she slept well and had been for a few days.

Sudais came out on his balcony and they stood facing eachother then he motioned for her to come over. She sighed and dropped her almost empty cup to wear a hoodie over her pajamas. It was her off day and she planned on staying in bed for the day.

She took the cup with her and dropped it in the kitchen on her way out. Her phone pinged in her hand and she looked at it to see a message from hafsah lamenting on the fact that she had to go to work. She typed a reply to her but stopped suddenly -- her fingers and feet as she saw a pair of black boots and as her gaze went up she took in the familiar camo fabric and thinking it was her brother, she looked up.

"Good morning". She mumbled and started to make her way inside the boys' quarters when he spoke. Something she didn't expect.

"How are you?". She looked at him in confusion.

"Uhm, I'm fine?". He nodded and she continued her way inside still confused.

She turned again to make sure she didn't imagine their encounter but she saw him walking to his car, she shrugged concluding that he was in a very good mood.

She went up to sudais' room, he told her to come in after her knock on his door. She met him seated in front of the coffee table in his room and his laptop before him.

"Good morning".she greeted him. He nodded and patted the space beside him on the couch.

She walked over and perched herself beside him. She looked at the screen of his laptop and saw tiny words she was sure had to do with the law which she was very much not interested in.
