Dawud watched his wife walk around the room, too calm for his liking. Her huge bump made it hard for her to move freely and he smiled at her new walking step he found very funny but didn't let her catch the smile, she'd make it a big deal and scold him about how improper it was for him to find her helpless situation funny.

"Rahma we need to go to the hospital". He told her again. Her water broke an hour ago and he had been trying to convince her it was time to go to the hospital but she instead found it as the right time to rearrange the box containing her and the baby's things they were taking to the hospital.

"I'm fine". She told him.

"I can see that, but it's better we go now. Your water broke as an indication for us to be on alert, so hospital time". She stopped in her steps and looked at him.

"You now have a degree in nursing or something?". He shook his head at her remark.

"Considering the fact that I put you in this situation and I'm eager to meet my— our baby. Yes, I have a degree in nursing or something". She glared at me lightly and continued what she was doing.

With the pregnancy she had become too stubborn, he could hardly handle her sometimes.

"I'm almost done". She said and he sighed in relief.

She zipped the box and went into the closet and he smiled gratefully that she was finally willing to go. He was already dressed so he waited patiently for her to get ready and then they could leave.

Only for her to emerge from the closet still in her nightdress.

"Wai me matsalan matan nan ne?". He voiced out not worrying about her scolding him any longer. ( What is wrong with this woman).

"I think I should cook something incase we get hungry while waiting". He sighed in exasperation and walked to her.

You think so too right?". He ignored her and went into the closet, he got out an abaya and veil and returned to the room where she had now moved the suitcase to the side.

He walked to her and ignoring her protests, he forced her into the clothing.

"Dawud,". She whined.

"I'm not listening to you anymore". She rolled her eyes and let him repack her braided hair and drape the veil on her head.

He picked both their phones and held her hand and pulled her downstairs with him. They stopped in the living room where the maid was watching something on the TV.

"Mairo, get the box from our room". Dawud told the young lady.

"In kin sauko, ki dauko flask daga kitchen". Rahma added and as they went out from the house, the girl went on to do what they asked.

Dawud helped Rahma into the car and buckled her up then waited for mairo to return with the items. When she did, he set them in the back seat and joined Rahma in the car and drove off.

"I'm not even feeling anything, we should have waited longer. Kasan, I wanted to atleast make dinner". He eyed her and when he found her smiling he knew she was teasing him. He shook his head and turned back to the road.

"Let me call mummy". She said and dialed her mother's number. Salma picked the call after three rings.

"Ke wun yi nna? Are you feeling any pains?". (What's up?).
