Joe Alwyn kissed Taylor Swift gently on the lips as he prepared to leave for his business meeting in Kansas. "I'll miss you," he whispered, his fingers brushing a strand of hair from her face.
Taylor smiled up at him, her eyes filled with love. "I'll miss you more. Come back soon."
As he boarded the flight, Joe felt a strange mix of anticipation and relief. He loved Taylor's body, or at least he thought he did, but something inside him craved more—more excitement, more passion, more novelty. And Taylor, with her unwavering devotion, was becoming predictable.
When Joe arrived in Kansas, he was informed that his meeting had been canceled. With an unexpected free day ahead of him, he decided to explore the city. A sign outside a quaint bookstore caught his eye: "Poetry Reading Today."
Intrigued, Joe walked inside and found a seat near the back. The room was filled with people, and a gentle murmur of anticipation floated through the air. He scanned the crowd and noticed a woman sitting alone a few seats away. She had a warm, approachable aura, and he felt drawn to her.
As the reading began, Joe found himself more captivated by the woman than the poetry. She occasionally glanced in his direction, their eyes meeting in fleeting, electric moments. When the event ended, Joe seized the opportunity to introduce himself.
"Hi, I'm Joe," he said, offering his hand with a friendly smile.
She took it, her touch warm and firm. "I'm Betty. Nice to meet you, Joe."
They began talking, discovering a surprising number of mutual interests—books, travel, even a shared love for obscure films. Joe felt a connection with Betty that he hadn't felt in a long time.
"I'm actually married It's not that I love her. I don'. But I wanted to be frank to you"Joe admitted, a hint of seduction in his voice.
Betty nodded, her smile bittersweet. "So am I , To my best friend. But sometimes, even in marriage, you can feel... alone."
Joe's heart raced. Joe was bored with Taylor's body. Imagining Betty in bed was making him crazy. He anyway took a lot of Taylor's money. As he thought he can't use Taylor anymore. He asked Betty , "Would you like to grab dinner? I'd love to continue our conversation."
Betty hesitated, then nodded. "Sure, I'd like that."
At dinner, the conversation flowed effortlessly. They laughed, shared stories, and for a few hours, the rest of the world disappeared. Joe found himself entranced by Betty's laughter, her perspective on life, her vibrant energy.
As they finished their meal, Joe looked at Betty, his heart pounding. "Can I see you again?"
Betty smiled, a spark of excitement in her eyes. "I'd like that."
They exchanged numbers, and Joe returned to his hotel, his mind swirling with thoughts of Betty. He couldn't bear to leave Kansas just yet. When he spoke to Taylor later that evening, he lied.
"The meeting's been extended, love. I'll be here for a few more days."
Taylor's voice was tinged with disappointment, but she masked it with her usual sweetness. "I understand, Joe. I'll miss you. Call me when you can."
Over the next few days, Joe and Betty met repeatedly, their connection growing deeper with each encounter. They explored Kansas City together, sharing secrets and dreams, the boundaries of their marriages blurring with each passing moment.
One night, as Joe sat alone in his hotel room, his phone buzzed. It was a video call from Taylor. He answered, even though he didn't want to.
"Hi, love," he greeted, forcing a smile.
Taylor's face appeared on the screen, her eyes filled with longing. "I miss you, Joe," she whispered, her fingers tracing the outline of her body. "I need you."
Joe watched as Taylor's fingers slipped beneath her lingerie, her soft moans filling the room. She was trying to be seductive, trying to bridge the distance between them, but all Joe could think about was Betty. In his mind, it was Betty moaning, Betty calling his name.
He forced himself to respond, whispering Taylor's name as she climaxed, but his heart wasn't in it. The call ended, leaving Joe feeling empty and conflicted.
Meanwhile, Betty was at home, unable to stop thinking about Joe. She lay in bed, her mind replaying their conversations, their stolen glances, the warmth of his touch. She knew it was wrong, but she couldn't deny the spark she felt with him.
The next day, they met again at the same restaurant. As they sat across from each other, the tension between them was palpable.
"Joe," Betty began, her voice trembling slightly. "I know this is complicated, but I can't stop thinking about you."
Joe reached across the table, taking her hand in his. "I feel the same way, Betty. This connection... it feels so real."
They sat in silence for a moment, the weight of their words hanging in the air. Finally, Joe spoke again.
"I don't know where this will lead, but I don't want to lose this... us."
Betty nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Neither do I."
And so, amidst the bustling streets of Kansas City, two souls found solace in each other, unaware of the storm brewing on the horizon. Taylor, back in Los Angeles, remained blissfully unaware of the betrayal unfolding miles away, her heart still beating with unwavering love for a man who had already moved on.
